Description
Cetrion du Olsterio serves as a royal general of the Rhoden Kingdom and heir to the Olsterio Dukedom, ascending to Duke after the deaths of his father Maldoira du Olsterio and Second Prince Dakares Ciciay Karlon Rhoden Vetran. He possesses a brawny build typical of men in their thirties, closely resembling a younger version of his father, and customarily dons a lieutenant general’s uniform. His personality inclines toward optimism in adversity, often reframing setbacks positively.
Cetrion operates under his father in the kingdom’s third army, publicly backing Prince Dakares while secretly swearing fealty to First Prince Sekt Rondahl Karlon Rhoden Sahdiay. This hidden loyalty shapes his maneuvers during political strife. After Marquis Tryton du Diento’s death—Dakares’ key financier—Cetrion joins conspiracies to silence Lord Orhevo and conceal their faction’s dealings in Diento.
During Houvan’s unrest, Cetrion engages in a failed plot to assassinate Prince Sekt, thwarted by a citizen uprising and Haunted Wolves. He later speculates that elves influenced Houvan and the Etzat Market attack, tying these to Dakares’ allies who captured elves. While escorting Dakares to safety, Cetrion orchestrates an ambush where he kills the prince, unveiling his true allegiance to Sekt. He aids in framing Dakares for attempting Sekt’s murder and Princess Yuriarna’s death by planting her necklace on Dakares’ corpse and wounding his own arm to stage self-defense. Cetrion also collaborates in schemes to eliminate Yuriarna and assists Sekt in disposing of a priest involved in her prior assassination attempt.
Following Dakares’ demise, Cetrion murders his father, inheriting the dukedom, command of the third army, and the title of Duke of Olsterio. His actions stem from viewing his father’s alliance with eastern powers as a betrayal of their homeland’s legacy, contrasting with Sekt’s goal to shield Rhoden from foreign entanglements—a vision Cetrion shares.
In subsequent events, Cetrion upholds Sekt’s political agenda, countering threats from the Holy East Revlon Empire and addressing instability after Wetrias’ attacks. He focuses on military leadership and perpetuating the fabricated account of Dakares’ downfall to secure Sekt’s ascension.
