Description
Laura Sakuraba is a main character in the anime Aikatsu Stars! and a student at Four Star Academy, where she belongs to the Flower Song Class and serves as the student council vice president. She comes from a family of musicians, with her father being a violinist and her mother a pianist, and she began training in singing at a young age, developing into a highly skilled performer. Her motivation to become an idol stems from an early childhood memory of seeing a performance by the S4 member Hibiki Anna wearing a Spice Chord dress, though for a long time she only remembered the dress and did not immediately recognize Anna as the source of her inspiration. Laura is classified as a cool type idol, and her theme color is blue. Her preferred brand is Spice Chord.

Laura is defined by a fierce competitive streak and a deep fear of losing, which drives her to stand out among her peers. She is fearless and often acts before thinking, taking on a role akin to a big sister with a bold, impertinent edge. This headstrong nature can make her seem brash, but she is also caring and possesses a strong sense of justice. Over the course of the story, Laura undergoes significant personal development. She starts off terrified of being seen as a loser, but she eventually learns that losing is a natural part of growth and becomes more humble and calm as a result. This growth allows her to mature into a more balanced and resilient individual.

Her primary ambition is to become a member of S4, the top four idols at the academy, and she later expands this goal to surpass even that level by aiming to become an Ultra S4. Her relationship with her classmate and close friend Yume Nijino is central to her journey. The two share the same dream of reaching S4, and Laura considers Yume both a friend and a rival. She hates losing to Yume specifically, and their friendly rivalry pushes both of them to improve. Laura also takes on a supportive role toward other students, consistent with her big sister persona. She struggles academically, particularly with mathematics, but gains interest in the subject after encouragement from Ako Saotome.

In terms of notable abilities, Laura is shown to be an exceptionally talented singer due to her extensive training from childhood, and she is a capable performer who can command the stage with a cool, confident presence. Her emotional journey is marked by frequent conflicts and troubles, and she is depicted as a three-dimensional character who grows alongside the protagonist, making her personal arc one of the most developed in the series.
