TV-Series
Description
Kouhei Izumi is the manager of Café Bloomoon, a coffee shop in Kichijoji that serves as a frequent gathering place for Yuta Gamon and his associates. He also holds the position of editor-in-chief for the occult magazine Mumuu, where Toko Sumikaze works as an editor. In his early forties, Izumi has black hair and black eyes, and he maintains a calm and reserved demeanor that often makes his true intentions difficult to read.

His background remains largely in the background, but his professional roles place him at the intersection of the everyday and the hidden. As the manager of Café Bloomoon, he provides a neutral setting where the main characters meet and discuss their investigations. As the editor-in-chief of Mumuu, he is directly connected to the occult-focused journalism that drives part of the story’s investigation into the mysterious events surrounding the murder of Professor Isayuki Hashigami.

Izumi’s motivations are not explicitly revealed, but his ties to a secretive religious organization become a point of concern. Toko Sumikaze, while following up on leads related to Hashigami’s research, discovers that Izumi has connections to this group, which is later uncovered to be the Society of the Eight Gods of Fortune, the front for the Musashino Medical Group. This association suggests that Izumi may have been aware of or involved in the larger conspiracy, though his exact level of complicity is left ambiguous.

In the story, Izumi functions as a supporting figure who bridges the ordinary world of the café with the hidden world of occult media and organized manipulation. His key relationship is with Toko Sumikaze, whose investigation into the events leads her to question his role. He also interacts with Yuta Gamon and the others as a café host, but his deeper motivations remain understated.

Izumi undergoes little visible development over the course of the series; his character is defined more by his position and connections than by personal change. He does not display any supernatural abilities or remarkable skills beyond his professional experience as a manager and editor. His significance lies in the web of relationships he facilitates and the shadowy connections that place him at the periphery of the central conflict.
