Description
Kōji Tōno is a first-year literature student at university and a member of the all-male cheerleading club Breakers. He has a stocky, chubby build, short brown hair, and eyes that are often drawn as closed or nearly closed, giving him a perpetually calm and content expression. Before joining Breakers, Tōno had no background in sports, which made him an unusual recruit; the team initially welcomed him with some reluctance because he did not fit the typical athletic mold. His motivation for joining stems from a desire to try something new and be part of a group, rather than from any competitive drive. Within the club, Tōno is known for his voracious appetite and his easygoing, gentle nature. He often carries snacks or is seen eating, and his cheerful attitude helps defuse tension among the other members. He forms close bonds with his teammates through shared practice and effort, gradually building his physical coordination and confidence. Over the course of the story, Tōno develops from a complete novice into a dependable cheerleader who can perform stunts and contribute to the team's routines. His notable abilities include an unexpected degree of physical strength for his size, which makes him suited for base and support positions in lifts, as well as a naturally positive disposition that lifts the morale of those around him. Tōno’s role in Breakers is that of the heartwarming, steady member who grows alongside his friends, proving that enthusiasm and perseverance matter as much as prior experience.
