TV-Series
Description
Celestino Cialdini is an Italian-American figure skating coach and a supporting character in the series. He is the former coach of the Japanese skater Yuuri Katsuki and the Canadian skater Jean-Jacques Leroy, and serves as the current coach for the Thai skater Phichit Chulanont. He has brown hair that is usually worn in a ponytail, with a distinctive strand that remains loose, and has light green eyes.

As a coach, Celestino is known for his generally cheerful and enthusiastic demeanor both on and off the ice. He is deeply dedicated to his work and is consistently kind and charismatic with his students, offering them a great deal of emotional support. His primary focus is on building his skaters' self-confidence, often encouraging them to believe in their own abilities. He is known for his warm greeting, Ciao Ciao, which has also become a nickname used by Phichit. Despite his supportive nature, he can be somewhat rigid when it comes to the creative decisions for his skaters' programs, preferring to choose their music and routines himself rather than deferring to their opinions.

Celestino's role in the story is primarily defined by his past and present relationships with several key skaters. He was Yuuri Katsuki's coach during a difficult period, including when Yuuri had a disastrous performance at the Grand Prix Final. Celestino noticed Yuuri's lack of confidence and tried to encourage him, even forcing him to attend the Grand Prix banquet in an attempt to cheer him up. When Yuuri later decided to have Victor Nikiforov as his coach and cut off contact, Celestino bore no ill will. He was pleased when Yuuri finally called him to discuss his free skate music and expressed his determination to win the next Grand Prix Final, stating that this was exactly what he had hoped to hear after the previous year's loss.

In contrast, his partnership with Jean-Jacques Leroy was short-lived due to their clashing personalities. Despite this, Celestino later expresses pride in J.J.'s achievements, remarking that a pupil's accomplishment is headier than any wine. His most prominent role in the narrative is as the current coach of Phichit Chulanont, with whom he has a casual and supportive relationship. He is highly confident in Phichit's abilities, famously declaring that Phichit would win the Cup of China over Yuuri. He is often seen working alongside Satsuki Muramoto in supporting Phichit at competitions, celebrating his successes and new personal bests enthusiastically in the kiss and cry area.

Celestino has a low tolerance for alcohol, famously passing out after only a small amount at a team dinner during the Cup of China. His development is most clearly seen through his evolving connection with Yuuri, transitioning from a comforting but somewhat inflexible coach to a proud mentor who is happy to see his former student find his own path. His primary motivation remains the success and well-being of his students, consistently demonstrating a belief that his role is to help them achieve confidence and share their talent with the world, as he encourages Phichit to intoxicate the crowd with his performances.
