Dr. Hedo, grandson of the Red Ribbon Army's former lead scientist Dr. Gero and Vomi, was orphaned early. He harbored resentment towards the Red Ribbon Army for corrupting his grandfather. Though he never met Dr. Gero personally due to parental disapproval, Hedo inherited his grandfather's scientific genius, earning both a medical degree and PhD at a young age. His intellect surpassed Dr. Gero's, but unethical practices and personality hindered stable employment. Hedo has a childlike complexion, black slicked-back hair, no visible eyebrows, and noticeable dark circles under his eyes. He altered his skin with a serum to resist impacts like bullets. His typical attire is a purple, black, and white superhero-style costume with a hood, often worn under a white lab coat, reflecting his superhero obsession. Driven to create ultimate android superheroes, Hedo's early experiments reanimated corpses for his Alpha Series androids, employed at a convenience store. Grave robbing led to his arrest and imprisonment. Upon release, he destroyed the prison with an explosive device. The Red Ribbon Army, under Magenta, recruited Hedo by falsely claiming Capsule Corporation planned an Earth invasion and offering substantial funding. Hesitant due to opposing world conquest, Hedo accepted to continue his research. For the Red Ribbon Army, Hedo created the Gamma Series androids – Gamma 1 (calm and serious) and Gamma 2 (playful and energetic) – designed as superheroic protectors. He reluctantly used Dr. Gero's schematics to develop Cell Max, a more powerful but uncontrollable version of Cell, expressing pride in the Gammas over Cell Max due to their original designs. Hedo opposed Magenta's plan to kidnap Pan to lure Gohan, voicing moral objections, and later tried to stop Magenta from prematurely activating the incomplete Cell Max, knowing it would cause global destruction. After Magenta activated Cell Max, Hedo used his robotic spy Hachimaru to poison Magenta. Magenta activated Cell Max before dying. Witnessing Cell Max's rampage and Gamma 2's sacrificial defeat attempt, Hedo survived the destruction. He expressed deep remorse for his actions, blaming the Red Ribbon Army's funding for clouding his judgment, and offered to surrender. The Z-Fighters, recognizing his lack of inherent evil, forgave him. Bulma, acknowledging his biological engineering expertise, recruited Hedo and Gamma 1 to work at Capsule Corporation, where he began researching applications for his resilient skin technology. Hedo's personality blends genius intellect with childlike enthusiasm. He is opportunistic and morally ambivalent, evidenced by unethical experiments, yet exhibits a sense of justice inspired by superhero media. He displays excitement over successful experiments, remorse over catastrophic outcomes, and a fondness for sweets like cream-filled cookies. His actions are primarily motivated by securing resources for his research rather than malicious intent.
