Description
Nico is inmate number 25 of Nanba Prison, held in building thirteen, cell thirteen. He is a sixteen-year-old American prisoner. He wears plain black shoes and a large ball and chain around his right ankle, with his identification badge pinned to the left side of his chest.

Nico has a cheerful and childish personality. He rarely takes things seriously and is easily fascinated by nearly everything, which displays his innocent nature. He is an otaku with a deep love for anime, manga, and video games. His motivations center around pursuing friendship and forming connections with others, and his carefree attitude often serves as a source of humor within the serious prison setting.

His background includes being an ex-drug addict who has unique health issues. He is resistant to most poisons, and he unconsciously and perfectly mimics the movements of those around him. Because he has no natural physical limits, he must take medication to prevent his own body from harming itself from excessive strain.

Nico’s standout abilities are his exceptional agility and reflexes. He relies on evasion and trickery rather than direct physical confrontation, using his strategic mind to outwit opponents and turn the environment to his advantage. His slim build limits his raw strength, but his quick thinking and ability to adapt make him valuable during the prison’s escape drills and crises.

In the story, Nico is one of the main protagonists of Nanba Prison. He initially appears as a supporting character but gradually becomes an integral part of the group dynamic. His key relationships are with his fellow cellmates: he shares a particularly close friendship with Juugo, whose serious demeanor contrasts with Nico’s lightheartedness. He also bonds with Uno and Rock, and these friendships emphasize themes of loyalty and companionship.

Nico’s character development is shown primarily through his interactions with others. He grows from a secondary figure into a trusted and essential member of the group, learning to rely on and care for his friends. His positive outlook and desire to connect with people remain central to his arc throughout the series.
