Description
Kazuki Suzuki is a central character in the anime Scared Rider XechS. He is an 18-year-old member of the SRX team, a group formed to defend the world from an otherworldly threat known as the Nightfly O'Notes. Standing at 180 centimeters tall, Kazuki has a distinctive appearance featuring grey, shoulder-length hair and heterochromatic eyes, one amber and one violet, which he typically conceals behind a pair of glasses. He was born on December 10th.
Personality-wise, Kazuki is widely regarded as the team's eccentric and unpredictable mood-maker. His speech patterns are notable for liberally mixing random English words and phrases into his Japanese, often creating a strange or comical effect. He is loud, whimsical, and prone to making up his own words, readily admitting to being a strange person while simultaneously not denying the label. Despite this seemingly flippant exterior, he possesses a sharp and observant nature. He is described as insightful and capable of calmly analyzing situations with a high degree of rationality when it truly matters. While he can work hard when the situation demands it, his diligent side is seldom witnessed by others, and his actions often remain unpredictable to his comrades.
A significant aspect of Kazuki’s character is his deep passion for music. He serves as the keyboardist for the in-game band Odd-I’s and is also responsible for writing the band’s songs. While the harmonies he composes are acknowledged to be of high quality, his lyrics are consistently described as nonsensical, eccentric, or complete gibberish, a fact that frequently leads to his bandmates rejecting his work, a point of personal frustration for him.
Within the SRX team, Kazuki has a specific role as a superhero who engages in combat and undergoes a transformation, or Henshin, to fight. His partner is a powerful entity known as a Substance, specifically one named Rickenbacker. He maintains a particular dislike for his own surname and becomes angry when people address him by it, insisting that others call him by his given name, Kazuki. However, his partner Rickenbacker notably ignores this request. In the story, Kazuki's development involves struggling with how his artistic expression is received by his friends while also demonstrating that his seemingly irrational behavior masks a capable and rational mind that contributes to the team's success. His key relationships are primarily with his fellow SRX team members and bandmates, whom he interacts with as a chaotic but ultimately reliable ally.
