Cadis Etrama di Raizel, often called Rai, is the central protagonist of the story. He is an ancient being known as a Noble, specifically holding the unique and paramount title of Noblesse. This title distinguishes him from all other Nobles, marking him as their hidden protector, their impartial judge, and, when necessary, their executioner. After sleeping in a sealed state for over 820 years, Rai awakens in an abandoned building in modern-day South Korea, completely unaware of humanity's technological and social advancements.
