Description
Jack is a sixteen-year-old boy who joins the ill-fated bus tour to the mysterious village of Nanakimura. He has a calm and quiet demeanor, often appearing with a blank expression or a frown, but this exterior masks a volatile temper that can quickly lead to aggressive and violent outbursts when he is provoked. His real name is Sasaki, though he chooses to go by the alias Jack. Little is mentioned about his family beyond that he was receiving treatment for a tumor.

His past is marked by significant trauma, as he was a victim of severe bullying during his school years. This mistreatment culminated in a violent incident where he stabbed one of his classmates, an act that led to him being sent to a juvenile detention center. He attended the same school as another tour participant, Maimai, who is familiar with his history and later reveals it to the group. His deep-seated distrust of adults is evident early on; when the bus driver’s actions endanger the passengers, Jack confronts him with physical force, expressing a belief that adults feign kindness only to lower a person's guard before betraying them.

Within the story, Jack quickly becomes a source of instability. On the first day in Nanakimura, he violently attacks another villager, Hyouketsu no Judgeness, with a garden hoe after a minor dispute about their similar-sounding names. Following this, Maimai exposes his criminal past, and the group restrains and imprisons him in an underground cell. However, he mysteriously escapes, with the cell door having been opened from the outside. He then aligns himself with another resident, Koharun, whom he refers to as boss. Under her orders, he acts as her enforcer, carrying out attacks on other group members alongside Hyouketsu no Judgeness, wielding weapons such as a bow and arrow.

His relationships are largely defined by conflict and subservience. He has a volatile and violent dynamic with Hyouketsu no Judgeness, whom he both assaults and partners with. His most defining relationship is with Koharun, to whom he shows a fierce, almost desperate loyalty; he fears her abandonment and is driven to please her, though he is not immune to her punishments, as he engages with Hyouketsu in a mutual beating after they fail a task for her. His development shows a shift from a lone, distrustful aggressor to a follower of a stronger will, ultimately deciding to remain in Nanakimura with Koharun after the group's conflict is resolved. His primary notable ability is his high capacity for sudden, brutal violence, using farming tools, his own body, and ranged weapons to attack others without hesitation.
