Description
Obito Uchiha, also known by the alias Tobi, is a masked ninja from Konohagakure's Uchiha clan who operates from the shadows throughout the events of Itachi Shinden. In that story, he appears as the masked figure who approaches Itachi Uchiha with a grim proposition: he will assist Itachi in wiping out the entire Uchiha clan, and in return Itachi will join the criminal organization Akatsuki and agree to leave his younger brother Sasuke unharmed. Itachi accepts while knowing that the man before him is not the legendary Madara Uchiha he claims to be, and the two maintain a tense partnership built on mutual convenience rather than trust.
As a child, Obito was a member of Team Minato alongside Kakashi Hatake and Rin Nohara during the Third Shinobi World War. He was an eager, good-hearted, and frequently late young ninja who dreamed of becoming Hokage and quietly loved Rin. During a mission, he was crushed by a falling boulder and was believed to have died after giving his left Sharingan eye to Kakashi. In truth, he was rescued by the elderly Madara Uchiha, who rebuilt his shattered right side with White Zetsu prosthetics and gradually indoctrinated him. Madara also arranged for Obito to witness Rin's death, an event that destroyed his faith in the real world and set him on the path to becoming a villain.
Obito's personality changes depending on which identity he is presenting.
