Description
Chamille Kitra Katjvanmaninik is the third princess of the Katjvarna Empire. Her early childhood was marked by political upheaval; at the age of three, she was sent to the neighboring Republic of Kioka as a political hostage, a fate that shaped her perspective on the empire and its ruling class. She remained in Kioka for eight years until she was eleven years old. Her return to the empire and subsequent introduction into the main story occurs when she is rescued from drowning during a storm at sea by the protagonist, Ikta Solork, while she was aboard a ship.

In terms of appearance, Chamille is a young girl with a youthful look. She has long, hip-length blonde hair with square bangs that cover her forehead and longer strands framing either side of her face, paired with distinctive yellow eyes. She wears a ring that is engraved with an external spirit tree, which has a connection to her full name.

Chamille possesses a complex and often contradictory personality. While she is highly skilled at deception and perfectly capable of playing the role of a composed and proper royal, this outward demeanor masks a deep-seated resentment for her own bloodline. Having witnessed the decay and corruption of the empire from a young age, particularly during her time as a hostage, she curses the Emperor and the nobility who oversee its decline. She is outspoken and holds little regard for tradition for its own sake, demonstrating a maturity and cynical pragmatism that belies her age. Although typically composed, she has a known relative button regarding Ikta's mother; insulting her is one of the few things that can provoke a strong, negative reaction from her.

Her primary motivation is radical and transformative. Convinced that the Katjvarna Empire is in an advanced state of irreversible decline, she does not seek to reform it but to destroy it entirely. Her goal is to tear down the existing corrupt system so that a new and better nation can be built from its ashes. To achieve this monumental task, she actively seeks allies who possess the intelligence to see the empire's flaws and the lack of blind loyalty that would prevent them from acting against it.

Within the story, Chamille serves as a key political catalyst. After being rescued from the storm, she is stranded alongside a small group of military officer candidates, including Ikta Solork, Yatorishino Igsem, Haroma Bekkel, Matthew Tetridch, and Torway Remeon. Following their return to the empire and their subsequent actions, she enrolls in the military academy alongside them. Her role evolves from a damsel in distress to a strategic conspirator. Recognizing Ikta's genius-level intellect beneath his famously lazy exterior, she solicits his assistance in her plan to dismantle the empire. This involves a plot to have him, as the "Invincible Lazy General," deliberately lose a war, a strategy that would cripple the existing power structure.

Chamille's key relationships drive much of her character development. She develops a profound and complex connection with Ikta Solork. Initially, she finds him to be an enigma, difficult to understand due to his laziness and crude demeanor. However, she quickly comes to hold him in extremely high regard for his unparalleled intelligence and his outspoken nature, which is a rarity in the empire. Her feelings evolve further as she becomes one of the few people who knows his true lineage and history with Kioka. There is a strong implication that she develops romantic feelings for him, leading her to become a love rival with Yatorishino Igsem, who shares similar affections for Ikta. Her relationship with Yatorishino is also significant; she initially sees Yatori as a hero who saved her life and as a powerful individual to be admired, but this admiration becomes complicated by their mutual interest in Ikta.

Throughout her development, Chamille transitions from a passive hostage to an active agent of change. She is not a frontline combatant. Her notable abilities lie entirely in the political and intellectual spheres. Her primary skill is deception, allowing her to navigate the treacherous waters of imperial politics. More importantly, she possesses a keen strategic mind capable of recognizing true talent in others, specifically Ikta, and devising a long-term plan to use that talent for her own revolutionary ends. Her power is her will to destroy her own nation and her cunning in attempting to orchestrate that destruction from within.
