Description
Aichi Sendou's childhood bullying fueled profound shyness and isolation. A transformative moment came when Toshiki Kai gifted him the Blaster Blade card, urging him to embody the knight's strength. This card ignited courage, leading Aichi to build a deck hoping to cardfight Kai again. After Kai seemingly moved away and bullying persisted, Aichi changed schools. He lives with his mother and younger sister Emi, initially showing little academic interest and relying on Emi to wake him daily – a routine that ended upon discovering Cardfight!! Vanguard.

His personality evolves from timid and quiet to increasingly confident through cardfighting. Early interactions reveal kindness and nervousness, but Vanguard fosters self-assurance and perceptiveness, though social denseness remains, like overlooking Kourin's romantic interest. PSYQualia corruption triggers arrogance and power obsession, particularly when using a Shadow Paladin deck, echoing Ren Suzugamori's demeanor. Later seasons showcase calm determination in battle, fierce loyalty to friends during crises, and leadership within the Cardfight Club. Under Link Joker's influence, he displays cold cruelty and ruthlessness, convinced self-sacrifice is needed to seal the threat. Post-corruption, he retains gentleness and concern for others' safety. Subsequent appearances reveal improved confidence despite lingering clumsiness.

Physically, he has blue hair with a signature right bang and blue eyes. Initially seen in a gray middle school uniform with a red sweater, his civilian clothes vary seasonally: green jackets in cold weather, white shirts when warm. High school brings a black Miyaji Academy blazer with red linings, white shirt, and red tie, accompanied by shorter hair and increased height. During the Link Joker arc, he wears a red-and-black coat resembling the Quatre Knights' attire, with shorter hair, dull eyes, and a dark aura. Later looks include light blue jackets, jeans, and noticeably longer hair.

His core ability is PSYQualia, linking him to Planet Cray and granting precognition during cardfights. This power enables memory manipulation, though Kai and close friends resist. After the Link Joker events, his capabilities grow: creating cards like "Companion Star Star-vader, Photon," converting units into talismans, reviving near-deceased units, and perceiving entities like Brandt. As host to Link Joker's seed, he demonstrates strong willpower to suppress its influence and emits destructive dark energy. His spiritual strength becomes comparable to Takuto Tatsunagi's, earning recognition from Cray's units.

His deck evolves across arcs: Royal Paladins (Seasons 1–2, Movie) feature Blaster Blade, King of Knights Alfred, and Soul Saver Dragon, later incorporating Blaster Dark for Majesty Lord Blaster. Season 2 transitions to Gold Paladins with Incandescent Lion, Blond Ezel, focusing on superior calls. Season 3 shifts to Liberators within Gold Paladins, using Blaster Blade Liberator and the Crossbreak Ride unit Liberator of Bonds, Gancelot Zenith. He briefly uses Shadow Paladins under PSYQualia's corruption.

Key narrative arcs include initial corruption by PSYQualia and Shadow Paladins, resolved by Kai; adapting to Gold Paladins after Takuto Tatsunagi seals his Royal Paladins; forming Miyaji Academy's Cardfight Club; and hosting Link Joker's seed. To prevent interstellar catastrophe, he voluntarily seals himself, erasing his existence from most memories. Friends restore him by altering his fate. In later continuations, he studies abroad but aids Chrono Shindou by transferring Stride Force and assists against Gyze. The manga depicts a colder persona under PSYQualia Zombie effects during the Link Joker arc.
