Description
Molt Sol Augustus is the emperor of the Empire, the dominant human-led political power in the Special Region. He is a former antagonist who, upon the opening of the Gate, immediately dispatched military forces to conquer the land beyond it, namely Japan, in an effort to strengthen his own power and influence. Stoic, highly intelligent, and calculating, he governs with a cold and manipulative demeanor, driven by an insatiable appetite for political scheming and ruthlessness. He is pragmatic enough to weigh political reality against personal revenge; when the Japan Self-Defense Forces prove overwhelmingly superior, he chooses to negotiate and admit defeat rather than waste the Empire’s resources on a losing war. Throughout the story, he serves as a central figure of Imperial authority, ordering attacks on the JSDF and later becoming a target of a coup led by his son Zorzal. He is eventually rescued by Princess Piña Co Lada and the JSDF, after which the legitimate Imperial government is reestablished in Italica. His key relationships include his children – the capable and diplomatic Piña and the belligerent Zorzal – and his interactions with the JSDF command, whom he respects from a pragmatic standpoint. While he initially underestimates modern Earth technology, he adapts his strategies as the conflict unfolds. His notable abilities lie not in personal combat but in political manipulation, strategic planning, and the exercise of absolute authority over the Empire’s vast military and bureaucratic apparatus. Over the course of the narrative, Molt evolves from a straightforward conqueror to a more subdued ruler forced to reckon with a world far beyond his understanding.
