Description
Ghader Talan is a high-ranking military officer in the Greater Garmillas Empire, holding the rank of Lieutenant General and serving as Chief Staff Officer at Imperial Headquarters during 2199. His age is equivalent to 40 Earth years. Talan exhibits a traditional military temperament marked by strong loyalty, particularly to Leader Abelt Desler, whom he supported soon after Desler's rise to power. He participated in key regime events, including the public announcement of interstellar conquests, seated within Desler's inner circle alongside his elder brother, Velte Talan.

Talan personally helped crush a serious coup attempt against Desler's regime, restraining one of the survivors. Throughout 2199, he attended critical strategic meetings and events leading to the regime's collapse. This included a palace celebration where he reported on military resistance in the Small Magellanic Cloud, cabinet meetings where he expressed outrage over the Imperial Guard's genocide on Alteria, and planning sessions for battles against Earth's Yamato. He was present during Yamato's assault on Garmillas, witnessing Desler's apparent death during the space station's destruction.

Following the regime's collapse, Talan continued serving at high government levels under Admiral Gul Ditz. He reported on fleet insubordination and persistently searched for his missing brother. Later, upon learning of Desler's survival during escalating conflict with the Gatlantis Empire, Talan gathered carriers and warships to rendezvous with Desler. He pledged renewed support, becoming Desler's second-in-command.

During the mission to Terezart, Talan assumed tactical command of the fleet while Desler traveled to the planet's surface. He directed combat operations against Yamato's attempts to break the planetary blockade, ultimately ordering his flagship carrier to force Yamato into an ocean landing. Talan's loyalty remained unwavering, yet he possessed a moral compass, condemning extremist actions taken in Desler's name.

Talan appears in "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," "Space Battleship Yamato 2202," and "Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2205," which adapts the storyline from "Yamato: The New Voyage." His role evolves from loyalist commander during the empire's peak to active participant in Desler's post-regime endeavors.
