TV-Series
Description
Kinu Furusato is an elderly woman who serves as the caretaker and guardian of Benio Adashino, having raised her in the years following the death of Benio's parents. She is a very short old lady with a black bob cut hairstyle and black eyes. Her birthday is January 26.
Kinu is defined by her deep and overprotective concern for Benio's well-being. This protective nature extends to her interactions with Rokuro Enmado, whom she first disliked after he accidentally saw Benio in a state of undress. As a result, she frequently refers to him as ero boy and tries to keep him away from Benio, though these actions serve largely as comic relief. Despite her outward hostility, deep down she trusts Rokuro and desires for him to be a supportive presence in Benio's life.
In the story, Kinu is first seen at the Hanabaru Dormitory in Kyoto, preparing to accompany Benio on her trip to Tokyo. Prior to Benio's departure, Kinu warns her about rumors of an exorcist with power equal to or greater than her own. When Benio returns from an excursion into Magano with dirty clothes, Kinu scolds her for not taking others along for safety but also compliments her skills, stating that she will have no problem navigating Magano on her own. Kinu also mentions that the Seika Dormitory in Tokyo, where they are headed, is full of useless exorcists who are nothing like Benio.
Upon arriving at Seika Dormitory, Kinu continues her role as Benio's protector, trying to shield her from what she perceives as the perverted eyes of the people inside. She later wakes Rokuro to inform him that Benio will begin attending his school, and discusses a powerful Impurity called a Basara that they had fought previously. Kinu is also the one who informs others about Benio's twin brother, who died in the Hiinatsuki Tragedy, explaining that Benio seeks to avenge him.
Regarding her abilities, specific exorcist powers or techniques are not prominently detailed, as her role is primarily that of a guardian and supporting character rather than a frontline combatant. Her significance lies in her relationship with Benio, her protective instincts, and the moments of comic relief she provides through her persistent but ultimately well-meaning antagonism toward Rokuro.
