Description
Mitsuo Muro is a supporting character in the story, initially introduced as a homeless DJ who receives little attention from clubgoers. He first appears when Agetaro Katsumata, the protagonist, saves him from starvation. In gratitude, Muro agrees to teach Agetaro the basics of DJing in exchange for three servings of lard per day. His background is that of a downtrodden street DJ who has fallen on hard times, but he possesses genuine skill behind the turntables. His personality is quiet and unassuming, with a beggar-like demeanor that reflects his circumstances. His primary motivation is simple survival, and he forms a transactional yet genuine bond with Agetaro through the sharing of knowledge and food. In the story, Muro serves as an early mentor figure who gives Agetaro his first formal lessons in DJ techniques, helping the protagonist take his first steps toward becoming a tonkatsu DJ. His key relationship is with Agetaro; through this connection, he gains a source of sustenance and a purpose as a teacher. Development is minimal but notable: he transitions from a forgotten figure on the streets to an active participant in Agetaro’s journey, and his willingness to pass on his craft shows a hidden generosity. His main notable ability is his expertise in DJ mixing and turntablism, which he imparts to Agetaro with practical, hands-on instruction.
