Description
Enedrad is a character from the Neighbor nation of Aftokrator, introduced during the large-scale invasion arc. He is a tall individual with long black hair cut into straight, diagonal bangs and red eyes. A distinctive feature is his right eye, which has a black sclera, a physical manifestation of his Aftokrator horns taking root in his brain. Like many from his nation, he possesses two horns on his head, similar in shape to those of an oryx. Following his death, Enedrad is later given a second form as a Black Rad, a small, black, quadrupedal creature with his characteristic horns and a tail modified to function as a plug for recharging trion.

Enedrad’s personality is defined by arrogance and a deep-seated confidence in his own power, often looking down on humans by referring to them as monkeys. He is battle-hungry and displays sadistic tendencies, enjoying the act of overwhelming weaker opponents. However, beneath this rash and unruly exterior lies a cunning and perceptive mind. During the invasion, he was able to quickly deduce the nature of the training room’s healing effect that made his attacks ineffective. This volatile and brash personality is not entirely natural; it is a side effect of his Trion Receptors, the horns, which had taken root in his brain and were gradually influencing his behavior.

Enedrad’s primary motivation during the invasion was to serve Aftokrator’s goal of finding a new god for their Queen Trigger, though he acted on his own battle lust. After being betrayed and killed by his own comrade, Mira, his motivations shift dramatically. When Border inadvertently creates Enedrad by implanting his original horns into a Rad, the new entity retains all the memories and personality of the original. Having been discarded by his nation, his primary driving force becomes revenge against Aftokrator and his former allies who abandoned him. He willingly cooperates with Border, providing crucial intelligence about Aftokrator’s internal structure, the desperate state of their Queen Trigger, and the political dynamics, including Hairein’s plan to potentially use Hyuse’s family as a sacrifice. While he claims his goal is purely revenge, his statements are noted to be half-truths, suggesting other unspoken intentions.

In the story, Enedrad serves as a major antagonist during the large-scale invasion arc, where he single-handedly infiltrates Border Headquarters, incapacitates the operators, and battles several squads before being defeated. His role transforms after his rebirth as Enedrad, where he becomes an unexpected source of information for Border. He is interrogated for details about Aftokrator and the Neighborhood, and his knowledge proves vital for the protagonists to understand the larger conflict. His key relationships are defined by betrayal. He was sent on a mission by his superior, Hairein, who saw him as disposable. He is ultimately murdered by Mira, whose mission was to retrieve his Black Trigger, not to save him. After his transformation, he forms an unexpected bond with Raizo Terashima, a Border engineer, as the two share an enjoyment of watching movies together. His relationship with Hyuse, a fellow Aftokrator soldier, is initially tense during the invasion but becomes more complex as Border gains knowledge from both of them.

Enedrad shows significant development from a carelessly arrogant invader to a more calculated informant. While his core arrogance remains, his cooperation with Border suggests a pragmatic shift, trading information for a chance at revenge and survival. As a Black Rad, his personality is noted to be somewhat more subdued, though he still possesses the same sharp tongue.

Enedrad’s notable abilities are formidable, centered on his use of the Black Trigger, Vorvoros. This trigger allows him to liquefy or gasify his own body. The liquefaction ability grants him enhanced mobility, allows him to create powerful blades, and encases his vital trion organs in a hard shell for defense. His gasification ability is particularly insidious, enabling him to travel through ventilation systems and attack opponents from within by entering their lungs. While using these abilities, his trion relay center and supply system are exposed, creating a weakness; he compensates for this by creating decoy dummies. He is also protected by an armored cape that can deflect gunfire and shed the effects of certain triggers like Lead Bullet. His implanted Trion Receptors grant him immense trion reserves, allowing him to use his powerful Black Trigger for extended periods, though they ultimately contributed to his mental instability and death.
