Description
Dayan is a white, anthropomorphic cat who serves as the central character of his story. He is originally an ordinary cat born on Earth, where he lived in the home of a young girl named Rima-chan. His transition to the fantastical world of Wachifield occurs during a snowy winter night when his curiosity draws him toward a mysterious, shining door, magically transporting him to this new realm. Upon arriving in Wachifield, Dayan gains the abilities to speak and walk on his hind legs, taking up residence in a small forest hut on the outskirts of the city of Tasir.

In terms of personality, Dayan is characterized by a blend of contrasting traits. He is often described as capricious and selfish, yet simultaneously kind and friendly. His defining characteristic is a deep-seated curiosity that frequently leads him into various adventures and fantastic journeys. Despite his sometimes whimsical nature, he also possesses a calm, thoughtful, and wise demeanor, often acting as an enigmatic and guiding figure for those around him. This combination of curiosity and wisdom makes him a reliable presence in the lives of his friends.

Dayan’s primary motivation stems from his inquisitive nature and his desire to help others. His role in the narrative is that of a guide and mediator. In the magical forest of Wachifield, he helps its inhabitants navigate their personal dilemmas, often offering gentle wisdom that allows them to find their own solutions and foster personal growth. He also serves as a bridge between the mystical world of Wachifield and the human world. In one of his journeys, he travels to Japan after receiving a letter from a young girl named Yuuko, who is experiencing strange dreams and needs his help to uncover a connection between her world and his.

Dayan is surrounded by a diverse group of friends and companions. On Earth, he lived with a girl named Rima-chan. In Wachifield, his close friends include Jitan, a mysterious and fearless black cat who is an excellent violin player; Marcy the rabbit; Ivan the crocodile; and Willy the mouse. Other companions in the wider narrative include Apricot, a mischievous cat; Professor, a wise owl; and Ticky, a timid rabbit. These relationships are central to the story, as Dayan’s calm and resourceful nature often serves as the guiding force for the group.

Dayan’s character does not undergo a dramatic transformation but rather develops through the accumulation of experiences and the deepening of his bonds with others. His adventures, whether small daily excursions with friends or larger journeys to the human world, explore themes of friendship, courage, and the interconnectedness of all beings. Through these encounters, he continues to explore his own identity and the delicate balance between different realms, reinforcing his role as a timeless and almost mythical figure within his world. His notable abilities include his resourcefulness and problem-solving skills, which he uses to navigate supernatural events and cryptic riddles, as well as his innate capacity to serve as a calming, guiding presence in times of mystery or trouble.
