Description
Mr. Willy el jefazo is the Spanish nickname for the character Mr. Wily, a central antagonist in the MegaMan NT Warrior anime series. In the original Japanese version, he is known as Dr. Wily, and his full name is often given as Albert W. Wily. The nickname el jefazo translates to the big boss, fitting his role as the original leader of the criminal organization World Three, also known as WWW.

In terms of background, Mr. Willy is a brilliant but embittered scientist. In his youth, he worked for the Ameroupe Army and was a contemporary of Dr. Tadashi Hikari, the grandfather of the protagonist Lan Hikari. His research into robotics and computer networks was overshadowed by Dr. Hikari’s work, which led to feelings of jealousy and resentment. This drove him to abandon legitimate science and form the World Three, a netcrime syndicate dedicated to causing chaos in both the real world and the cyberworld.

Personality-wise, Mr. Willy is a classic mad scientist. He is cunning, manipulative, and driven by a desire for power and revenge against the society that he feels wronged him. He is prone to dramatic schemes and often uses others to carry out his plans. Despite his villainy, he shows occasional moments of pragmatism and, later in the series, a willingness to cooperate with former enemies when facing greater threats.

His primary motivation is the destruction of the network society that Dr. Hikari helped create. Rather than seeking to create the Life Virus like his video game counterpart, the anime version of Mr. Willy seeks the Ultimate Program, specifically by searching for the powerful NetNavi PharaohMan. He desires to use that program to achieve his goals, which initially appear to be destruction but later evolve into a more neutral stance.

Mr. Willy’s role in the story is significant across multiple seasons. He is the main antagonist of the first season, leading World Three and deploying various operatives such as Mr. Match, Count Zap, and Yahoot to carry out his plans. He also secretly controls the Grave crime syndicate from behind the scenes during the second season. After his initial defeat, he disappears for a time but later returns as a neutral ally, assisting Lan Hikari and MegaMan against larger threats such as the Darkloids and the Nebula organization. In the Beast+ season, he appears briefly, and it is revealed that he once ran a sushi restaurant named Wily’s Sushi.

Key relationships include his cold association with his adopted son, Dr. Regal, whom he considers dangerous and unstable. He also has a close relationship with Ms. Yuri, another adopted child, and is an old friend of Barrel, the grandfather of Chaud. Unlike the video games, he is not the creator of Iris or Colonel. He works with a variety of NetNavis, including BlasterMan and StoneMan, and is often opposed by Lan Hikari and MegaMan.

Character development is notable. Mr. Willy begins as a straightforward villain, but after his schemes fail, he transitions into a more ambiguous figure. He eventually helps the heroes on multiple occasions, showing that he is not entirely irredeemable. This shift reflects a more nuanced portrayal compared to his video game counterpart.

In terms of abilities, Mr. Willy is a highly intelligent scientist and strategist. He designs and deploys advanced NetNavis, creates powerful virus programs, and builds elaborate bases and traps. He is not a frontline combatant, relying instead on his minions and machines to do battle. His notable assets include the cloning technology used to create armies of BlasterMan and StoneMan, and his knowledge of the Ultimate Program. Despite his physical frailty, his mind makes him a formidable adversary.
