Description
GutsMan.EXE is the NetNavi partnered with Dex Ogreon (known as Dex Oyama in some material) in the anime MegaMan NT Warrior. As a digital being, his design is large, bulky, and physically imposing, which reflects his primary function as a powerhouse focused on brute physical strength rather than speed or complex strategy.

In terms of personality, GutsMan is a direct reflection of his operator, Dex. This makes him somewhat slow to move or react, and he is not particularly intelligent or quick-witted. Despite a gung-ho attitude and a tendency to act when sufficiently provoked, especially if a friend is in danger, he generally does not make hasty decisions. However, once his anger is roused, his strength becomes a truly formidable force. Underneath his tough exterior, he is a friendly, loyal, and caring individual who is deeply dedicated to his friends, often fighting alongside them. In the Japanese version of the anime, this is highlighted by his habit of ending many of his sentences with the verbal tic de gatsu or guts.

GutsMan serves as a friendly rival to the protagonist, MegaMan.EXE. This rivalry extends to a romantic subplot, as GutsMan has a persistent crush on the kind and gentle NetNavi Roll.EXE, mirroring his operator Dexs feelings for Roll's human partner, Maylu Sakurai. He becomes visibly jealous or angry when Roll spends time with MegaMan, further fueling their competitive dynamic.

His role in the story begins in a more antagonistic light, as he and Dex initially act as local bullies, using his strength to pick on the NetNavis of weaker children. After being defeated by Lan Hikari and the newly customized MegaMan, a change occurs; they realize the error of their ways and become steadfast friends and allies to the main group. GutsMan often joins the team in major battles against various net-crime organizations, where his power is crucial for removing physical obstacles or overwhelming strong foes. One of the most significant demonstrations of his heroic nature occurs during a search for MegaMan, when he valiantly holds up the weight of a collapsing structure on his own, allowing his friends to escape and even saving Roll from falling debris.

Throughout the series, GutsMan shows a capacity for growth. While he never loses his core personality as a lovable, strong-hearted bruiser, his role shifts from a simple bully to a reliable and courageous hero who others can count on in a crisis. In later series, such as Rockman.EXE Beast, he also takes on an employee role at a curry shop alongside Dex. By the events of Beast+, he even unknowingly teaches the character Zero an important lesson about the meaning of companionship.

In combat, GutsMan relies entirely on his overwhelming attack power. His signature techniques include the Guts Punch, a powerful punch that can push opponents back, and the Guts Hammer, where he slams his fists into the ground to create a damaging shockwave. He is also capable of using a larger version of his punch called the Mega Guts Punch by slotting in a corresponding Battle Chip. While his attacks are devastating when they land, his lack of speed and agility is a notable weakness, but his loyal heart and immense strength make him an invaluable friend and ally.
