Description
Glide.Exe is the personal NetNavi of the wealthy young prodigy Yai Ayano in the anime MegaMan NT Warrior. Designed with the appearance and demeanor of a refined, well-mannered butler, Glide is characterized by his calm, patient, and soft-spoken personality. He consistently speaks in a classy and polite manner, a trait that contrasts sharply with his operator's often impulsive and demanding nature. Even when Yai loses her temper or unfairly blames him for things beyond his control, Glide remains unfailingly composed and never loses his cool, obediently following her commands without question.
While Yai is a genius who skipped several grades, her small hands make manual NetBattling difficult, so she relies on Glide to act on her behalf. Glide's primary motivation is to serve his operator faithfully, managing her schedule and acting as her representative in the digital world. He is fiercely loyal to Yai and, by extension, to her circle of friends, always joining the fight when they are in need. Glide plays a supporting role in the story, rarely serving as the lead combatant but providing essential assistance to protagonists Lan Hikari and MegaMan. He often helps by utilizing his high-level security clearance to access networks that other Navis cannot. In early episodes, a common sequence involves Yai sending Glide to investigate a disturbance, only for him to be ambushed, prompting MegaMan to come to his aid.
Glide's key relationships are defined by his connection to his operator and her friends. He shares a close bond with Yai, serving as her calm and rational counterpart. Despite his formal exterior, which can come across as somewhat snooty, he becomes good friends with MegaMan, Roll, and GutsMan, reflecting his operator's friendships with Lan, Maylu Sakurai, and Dex Ogreon. Glide is shown to be a gentleman towards the female Navi Roll but initially ignores male Navis like MegaMan and GutsMan, a trait he eventually overcomes as the group bonds.
