TV-Series
Description
Kuma, whose full birth name is Klaus Henrik Poncetta Von Vogel Strobel Cash De La Manecca the Third, is a mascot character who serves as the manager of the idol unit SoLaMi♡SMILE, consisting of Mirei Minami, Sophy Hojo, and Laala Manaka. He appears as a small bear-like creature with a ribbon around his neck and a pair of wings on his back. His long, aristocratic-sounding name is indicative of a high status among mascots, and he carries a mixture of pride and genuine care for the idols under his guidance.

In terms of personality, Kuma can come across as somewhat lazy, but that surface impression masks a deeply competitive and ambitious nature. He is determined to help Laala, Mirei, and Sophy become top idols and to secure his own reputation as the best manager in PriPara. He tends to be arrogant at times, yet he possesses a warm heart and shows sincere commitment to his team’s success. A distinctive verbal tic marks his speech: he habitually appends the suffix “-kuma” to the end of his sentences. His favorite drink is green juice, and he is often seen enjoying it.

Kuma’s primary motivation is to be recognized as the top manager, which puts him in a friendly but intense rivalry with Usagi, another mascot manager who shares the same goal. This competitive dynamic fuels many of his actions and often leads to humorous exchanges. Despite the rivalry, the relationship is not hostile; both are driven by a similar ambition, and they occasionally work alongside one another.

His role in the story goes beyond simply managing schedules. He recruits Laala into the world of PriPara, shares the history of how he and Mirei first met, and later explains the concept of the Prism Voice to the group. He is also responsible for teaching the younger mascot Punicorn how to be a proper manager. However, his career has not been without setbacks. Prior to the main events of the series, he caused a major incident in Parajuku that resulted in him losing his manager license. This past failure adds a layer to his character, emphasizing his growth and his renewed effort to prove himself by guiding SoLaMi♡SMILE to success.

Key relationships include his bond with Laala, Mirei, and Sophy as their manager; his rivalry and grudging respect toward Usagi; and his mentorship of Punicorn. Through these interactions, Kuma evolves from a figure who once stumbled into a reliable, if still occasionally lazy, supporter of his team. His notable abilities are tied to his managerial expertise, his knowledge of the inner workings of PriPara, and his capacity to fly using his back wings, which aids him in his duties as a mascot.
