Description
Kuma is a mascot character in PriPara whose full birthname is Klaus Henrik Poncetta Von Vogel Strobel Cash De La Manecca the Third. He serves as the manager for the idol team SoLaMi♡SMILE, which consists of Mirei, Sophy, and Laala. In this role he is their guide, strategist, and supporter, officially overseeing their activities and development as performers.
In terms of personality, Kuma presents a somewhat lazy and easygoing demeanor, yet beneath that exterior he is highly competitive and ambitiously driven to help his idols reach the top. He cares genuinely for the members of SoLaMi♡SMILE and takes a supportive approach, differing from the more controlling style of his rival, the mascot Usagi. The two share a friendly rivalry rooted in their mutual goal of becoming the best manager. Kuma has a fondness for green juice and habitually appends the verbal tic "-kuma" to the end of his sentences.
Kuma's motivations center on elevating his team and proving his worth as a manager after a complicated history. He has known Mirei for a long time and once caused a large disruption in Parajuku that resulted in him losing his manager license. This past fuels his determination to succeed and to make amends through his work with SoLaMi♡SMILE. Throughout the story he guides the idols in understanding important concepts such as the Prism Voice, and he also takes on the task of teaching the young mascot Punicorn how to be a proper manager. His development is marked by a growing reliability and the strengthening of his bond with his team as he channels his ambition into nurturing their talents.
Physically, Kuma appears as a small pink teddy-bear-like fairy mascot with yellow wings and a purple ribbon accented with a yellow heart. His most notable abilities lie in his management acumen, his deep knowledge of PriPara's inner workings and performance mechanics, and his capacity to fly short distances thanks to his wings. These traits, combined with his persistence and genuine care, make him an indispensable part of the team's creative and competitive journey.
