His early life was marked by stark contrasts; born to the king and a servant, he spent his first years in the poverty of the slums before being brought to the royal palace at the age of ten. There, he received a high-level education in economics, linguistics, and royal swordplay, but a tragic incident involving his childhood friend led him to flee the palace, burdened by guilt over his father's subsequent death. After leaving the capital, he worked as a caravan driver in the oasis town of Qishan, where he eventually met the young magician Aladdin.

Driven by a desire for wealth and freedom, Alibaba convinced Aladdin to help him conquer the nearby dungeon. Together, they successfully navigated the seventh dungeon and defeated its guardian, gaining the allegiance of the fire djinn Amon. With the treasures from the dungeon, he returned to his troubled homeland of Balbadd, where he used his fortune to free many slaves, including the young Fanalis girl Morgiana, and became the leader of the vigilante group known as the Fog Troupe. After a political crisis that saw Balbadd absorbed into the vast Kou Empire, he relocated to the peaceful island nation of Sindria as a guest of the legendary King Sinbad, where he continued his training.

At his core, Alibaba is defined by profound loyalty and empathy, shaped by his early experiences of communal survival in the slums and the affection of his mother. While he can initially come across as somewhat greedy, irresponsible, or easily flustered, particularly around women, these traits belie a deeply noble and principled nature. He possesses a strong sense of justice and is quick to act when witnessing injustice, sometimes recklessly charging into situations alone because he feels personally responsible. He is a natural leader and a skilled negotiator, possessing the intelligence to grasp complex political situations and even learn ancient languages. He serves as a loyal subordinate to the ambitious Kouen Ren for a time and shares a complex rivalry and friendship with Hakuryuu Ren, another prince seeking to change the world. His training under the swordsman Sharrkan of Sindria significantly refines his combat skills.

In terms of abilities, Alibaba is a highly skilled swordsman, proficient in the royal fencing style of Balbadd as well as techniques learned from Sharrkan. His primary power comes from his Djinn, Amon, who resides in a metal vessel that originally was a royal sword given by his father. This allows him to generate and manipulate fire. His techniques range from creating walls of flame and enhancing his sword strikes with fire to performing a Partial Djinn Equip, which transforms his arms into a black, metallic substance that greatly enhances his strength. After rigorous training in the Reim Empire, he masters the Full Djinn Equip, taking on a powerful, flame-wreathed form that grants him flight and immense destructive capability, including the use of an Extreme Magic attack that summons a colossal being of fire to deliver a devastating slash. A unique aspect of his power set is his ability to handle the Magoi of two souls, his own and Cassim's, which, once harmonized, made him significantly more powerful than an ordinary Djinn user.
