Description
Gino Weinberg is a character from the second season of the anime Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. He is a young man of 17 years, born on November 27, and stands 185 cm tall with blond hair often styled into three small braids and blue eyes. He hails from a prestigious Britannian noble family, the Weinbergs, and as the fourth son, he was not initially the focus of his family's attention. Despite his noble lineage, Gino largely earned his position through personal merit, rising to become the Knight of Three, the third-highest rank in the Empire's elite Knight of the Round.
Gino is characterized by his energetic, optimistic, and outgoing personality, which stands in stark contrast to the more reserved demeanors of his close friends, Suzaku Kururugi and Anya Alstreim. He is generally cheerful, friendly, and informal, often greeting Suzaku with a one-armed hug despite Suzaku's more restrained nature. He participates in key missions, including the defense of Governor Nunnally, diplomatic efforts in the Chinese Federation, and the final battles for control of the world. His time at the Ashford Academy, where he enrolls to experience normal life, serves to humanize him and connect him with the series' main cast.
Gino's key relationships significantly shape his journey. His friendship with Suzaku Kururugi is central; he is one of the few people who genuinely tries to connect with the often-isolated Suzaku, though their bond is severely tested by later events.
