TV-Series
Description
Naoko Asada is a student at Shiiou University and a supporting character in Genshiken: Second Generation. She is a member of the Manga Society, a club distinct from the Genshiken, and is a close friend of Kumiko Yabusaki. In the original manga, she was initially an unnamed background character; the surname Asada was first assigned in the ending credits of the second anime series, and her given name Naoko was later established in chapter 63 of the continuing manga. Naoko is known for her perpetually cat-like expression, often described as a mob face resembling:3, which has earned her the nickname Nyaako. She is friendly and approachable but also notably blunt in her speech, and her manner of speaking is highly irregular, adding to her eccentric charm. She enjoys manga and otaku culture, and her role in the story is primarily as a comic counterpart to Yabusaki, providing lighthearted interactions and reinforcing the social dynamics of the university clubs. Her key relationships are with Yabusaki and another Manga Society member named Katou. Although her role is minor, she developed from an unnamed figure into a distinct character with a memorable personality and visual trait, though she does not possess any notable abilities beyond her distinctive bluntness and cat-like demeanor.
