Description
Jean-Pierre Lapin, often called by his nickname JP, is a prominent character in the Inazuma Eleven GO series who continues to play a significant role in the events of Galaxy. He is a young Japanese midfielder who later transitions into a goalkeeper, recognizable by his small stature, spiky brown hair, and a distinctive light blue headband.

In terms of personality, JP is defined by his boundless energy, unwavering optimism, and strong determination. He is an intensely spirited player whose enthusiasm is infectious to those around him. His best friend is Arion Sherwind, and their strong bond is a core part of his motivation to be the best player he can be. Despite his usually cheerful demeanor, JP is not without insecurities; he can sometimes struggle with self-confidence, particularly when placed in high-pressure situations or when comparing his skills to others. However, his optimistic nature typically helps him push past these doubts.

At the beginning of Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy, JP experiences a significant setback. Despite his past contributions as a key player for Raimon and various national teams, he is shockingly left off the roster for the new Inazuma Japan team heading to the Frontier Football International Vision 2 tournament. This exclusion leaves him deeply disappointed, especially as he watches his best friend Arion leave without him. While he initially supports the team from the sidelines, his desire to help is too strong to ignore. Determined to join the fight, he secretly stows away on the team's spaceship, the Galaxy Note, as they depart for space. This bold and courageous act leads to him being accepted as an alternate goalkeeper for the Earth Eleven, the team formed to compete in the Grand Celesta Galaxy tournament.

His most important relationships are central to his identity. His friendship with Arion Sherwind is his strongest bond, providing him with constant encouragement and a shared passion for soccer. During the events in space, he also develops a notable dynamic with Ibuki, the team's main goalkeeper. While initially experiencing feelings of inferiority after seeing Ibuki's natural talent, JP learns to overcome his jealousy and resolve to work together to strengthen the team's defense.

Throughout the Grand Celesta Galaxy, JP is determined to prove his worth and contribute to the Earth Eleven. His development focuses on overcoming his initial disappointment at being left out and finding his place as a reliable backup goalkeeper. His role in the story is that of the resilient underdog who uses his wits and spirit to fight for a spot on the team and protect the goal when his teammates need him most.

JP possesses several notable abilities. His most famous physical asset is his incredible jumping power, which allows him to leap to great heights to block shots despite his small frame. Initially a defender, he transitioned to goalkeeper in earlier seasons, a role he continues to develop in Galaxy. As his training in space progresses, he masters a powerful new goalkeeping hissatsu technique, the Rocket Punch, known in some sources as Galaxy Rocket. This move, which involves a powerful diving punch to deflect the ball, becomes his signature save and allows him to effectively guard the goal in the intense intergalactic matches.
