TV-Series
Description
Katora Peiji, also known as Katra Paige, is a significant character from Inazuma Eleven GO Galaxy. She is portrayed as a young alien girl with a regal bearing, identified as the princess of the planet Kiel. Her appearance is distinctive, featuring long, pale purple hair styled into twin braids, pointed elf-like ears, and pink or purple eyes. Her attire consists of a long-sleeved white top and matching white pants, complemented by a blue-grey cloak fastened at her waist with a silver or pink belt.
The background of Katora is deeply tied to tragedy. Her home planet, Kiel, was destroyed by a black hole. Prior to this catastrophe, the scientists of Kiel, including a man named Potomuri, worked desperately to complete a weapon known as the Cosmic Plasma Photon Cannon, intended to eliminate the black hole and save their world. As the destruction became inevitable, the scientists created a small spaceship to help Katora escape, but she refused to abandon her planet and her people. Instead, she ordered Potomuri to escape in her place, charging him with the mission to protect another planet that might one day face a similar fate. It is later revealed that before Kiel’s destruction, Bitway Ozrock arrived and kidnapped Katora, taking her away from her dying world.
In terms of personality, flashbacks suggest that as a young child, Katora was somewhat boyish and knew no fear. As the series progresses, she is portrayed as solemn, mysterious, and deeply burdened by the loss of her home. Despite her tragic circumstances, she possesses a strong will and a selfless determination to save others from suffering the same fate as her planet. Her primary motivation is the salvation of the galaxy from the same black hole that consumed Kiel. To achieve this, she seeks to gather the four Fragments of Hope, powerful artifacts that can activate the Cosmic Plasma Photon Cannon and destroy the black hole.
Katora’s role in the story is that of a guide and catalyst. She first appears to the protagonist, Matsukaze Tenma, in a dream, appearing as a light that leads him to the first Fragment, the Pixie stone. After Earth Eleven's victory against Sandorius Eleven, she appears to Tenma in reality, but only he is able to see her. She entrusts the mission of collecting the remaining fragments to him, urging him to continue winning matches in the Grand Celesta Galaxy tournament to learn the truth and unlock the power to save the galaxy. She appears to him at various points on different planets, such as Sazanaara and Gurdon, providing guidance on where to find the next fragments of hope.
Her key relationships are central to the plot. Her connection with Tenma is the most important, as she recognizes his troubled heart and his ability to use the power of hope correctly. Her relationship with Potomuri is also critical; he is a loyal subject who followed her orders to survive and later aids Earth Eleven. Their reunion is fraught with emotion, as she reveals her kidnapping and Ozrock's true, manipulative nature. Her relationship with Bitway Ozrock is antagonistic; she trusted his promise to use the cannon to eliminate the black hole, only to realize he had deceived her and intended to use it for galactic conquest.
Throughout the series, Katora undergoes a notable development. She begins as a mysterious, ghost-like figure, appearing only to Tenma and disappearing quickly. Her tragic past is slowly unveiled, leading to a moment of vulnerability when she is brought before Potomuri as a captive, revealing Ozrock’s betrayal. In the climax, after Earth Eleven secures victory, she steps forward to address the galaxy, revealing the true purpose of the Grand Celesta Galaxy tournament was to gather the energy needed to power the cannon and save everyone. She ultimately achieves her goal of destroying the black hole, finally showing open emotion as she thanks Tenma and her allies, and tearfully bids farewell to Potomuri as his spirit form departs.
Regarding notable abilities, Katora does not participate in soccer matches directly, but possesses several supernatural powers. She can appear and disappear at will, seemingly teleporting across different planets. She can appear as a formless light to guide others. Most notably, she can choose to reveal herself to only one person, as Tenma is the only member of Earth Eleven who can see or hear her for most of the series. She also possesses inherent knowledge of the Fragments of Hope and the history of the galaxy.
