Description
Lafter Frankand is a supporting character in Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. She is a member of the Turbines, a transport and combat unit under the Teiwaz organization, and serves as the primary pilot of the STH-14s Hyakuri mobile suit. Born in the Jupiter sphere, she becomes one of Naze Turbine’s romantic partners and a trusted operative within his group.
Lafter is generally cheerful, outgoing, and somewhat childish in her demeanor, often displaying a bright and friendly attitude toward those she considers allies. In combat, however, she exhibits a playful yet ruthless streak, sometimes toying with opponents before finishing them off. Despite this, she is not cruel without reason; her violence is reserved for enemies and does not define her everyday personality.
Her motivations are rooted in loyalty to Naze and the Turbines, as well as a genuine care for the younger members of Tekkadan. After Tekkadan forms an alliance with Teiwaz, Lafter takes on a mentor-like role, acting as a big sister figure to Tekkadan’s younger pilots. She helps train them and offers emotional support, especially to those struggling with loss or hardship.
Lafter’s key relationships include her close working partnership with Azee Gurumin, another Turbines pilot. The two fight in perfect sync during battles, often overwhelming foes through coordinated attacks.
