Description
Inari C is one third of a set of identical triplets who collectively serve as priests and commanders at the guard station in Heian-kyo. Alongside her sisters, Inari A and Inari B, she is instantly recognizable by her white fox mask and her appearance that strongly resembles a traditional Japanese doll. All three sisters look exactly alike, which has led to them being referred to collectively or individually as Inari by the other characters in the series.

The three Inari sisters share a singular, unified personality and set of beliefs. They have lived for a very long time, which is reflected in their old-fashioned and formal way of speaking. They are often called the fox god by the character Kintoki. Their core philosophy is one of strict non-interference with the human world. They believe that matters concerning the curse of humanity are their responsibility, but unless a Horror is directly involved, they view the affairs of humans as beneath their concern. Their role is to give orders and oversee operations from a distance, but they are not quick to offer trust or praise. Even to the protagonist Raikou, a Makai Knight who wields the legendary golden armor, they express skepticism, once sarcastically questioning what he can truly accomplish while sealed within his armor. This attitude extends to others who act on their own initiative; they have compared the loyal Raikou to a faithful dog while expressing a distinct dislike for the wild and unpredictable nature of the rogue knight Hakamadare.

Inari C and her sisters play a key role as the authority figures from whom the main characters receive their directives. The protagonist Raikou addresses them with respect and follows their orders, while the alchemist Seimei speaks to them in plain language and is less obedient. This disobedience leads the Inari sisters to threaten Seimei in a teasing manner, though this is generally not done with malicious intent. Despite their claims of being neutral bystanders, they are not without a sense of duty. When their course of action was questioned from above, they demonstrated their power and capability by using their abilities to subdue the powerful Ashiya Douman.

Their motivations are rooted in a long-standing, detached observation of the world. They view human curses as their area of expertise but show no inclination to help with human suffering unless it is directly caused by a Horror. The sisters appear to hold significant knowledge about the supernatural forces at play in the world, including the mysterious red moon. They claimed to have begun watching the current events unfold since the red moon appeared, implying an understanding of its significance that they do not readily share with the others. Although they initially maintain a distant and sometimes antagonistic stance, their actions in the latter part of the story show a willingness to take direct, powerful action when the situation escalates beyond their prescribed role as simple overseers.

In terms of abilities, the full extent of their power is not immediately apparent, as they prefer to stay in the background. However, they are shown to be capable of great feats, including the ability to subdue a powerful sorcerer like Ashiya Douman with minimal effort. They also possess the ability to use butterflies to threaten and coerce others, as demonstrated with the alchemist Seimei. All three sisters seem to be equally powerful and act in perfect concert, functioning as a single, formidable entity. There is no individual development shown for Inari C separate from her sisters, as they collectively present a united front from their introduction to the end of the series, maintaining their enigmatic and authoritative presence throughout the story.
