Description
Jun Shiratori is a character from the anime Erased. In the original timeline, he is a young man who works part-time as a food delivery person, often seen driving the family's pickup truck around town. He is known for being a friendly and encouraging individual, frequently approaching lonely children in the neighborhood to play with them and give them advice, urging them to be brave and make friends. This kind and supportive nature leads the protagonist, Satoru Fujinuma, to give him the nickname Yuuki, which means courage. His typical outfit includes a blue cap worn backwards, a black t-shirt with a cream-colored vest, gray jeans, and black and white sneakers, and he is noted to have a slight stutter.
Jun's primary role in the story is tied to a series of child kidnapping and murder cases that took place in Satoru's hometown when they were both children. In the events preceding Satoru's time leap, Jun was falsely accused of being the killer. His part-time job working late hours at his father's shop and his tendency to be around children contributed to the police's suspicion, leading to his arrest and eventual death sentence for a crime he did not commit. Satoru refuses to accept this wrongful conviction, as he personally knows Jun to be a good and innocent person.
Believing that the true killer is the same person who will later murder his mother, Satoru travels back in time to his elementary school days to prevent the tragedies. To protect Jun and clear him from being a suspect, Satoru takes direct action. He sabotages the Shiratori family home by throwing a rock through Jun's father's bedroom window, creating an incident that draws police attention to the house. This act of vandalism successfully ensures that Jun is not in a position to be wrongly implicated when the killer later strikes, effectively removing him from the suspect list.
As a result of Satoru's successful intervention in the past, Jun's life is dramatically altered for the better. He is saved from the false accusation and its devastating consequences. In the new timeline, after Satoru falls into a coma, Jun is said to have started a business in an unnamed country in Southeast Asia, where he also meets his future wife, suggesting he leads a happy and fulfilling life free from the tragedy that originally awaited him.
