Description
Nagisa Kiryū is a central figure in Classroom Crisis, introduced as a third-year transfer student at the Kirishina Science and Technology Academy on Mars. He is the third son of the Kiryu family, the founding family of the Kirishina Corporation, which places him at the heart of the company's complex corporate and family dynamics. His background is marked by a significant secret: he is the son of his father and a woman named Shinamiya Chisato, which, through blood relation to the Shinamiya family, makes him the legitimate heir of the entire Kirishina Company. Prior to his appearance at the academy, he had already achieved considerable corporate success in various assignments across the Solar System.

Nagisa's personality initially presents as cold, calculating, and businesslike. He is highly pragmatic and views situations through a corporate lens. Upon his arrival, he openly announces that his assigned task is to dismantle the A-TEC division, referring to it as downsizing. This direct and unemotional approach creates immediate friction with the passionate and close-knit A-TEC team. However, this outward demeanor masks deeper layers of cunning and a personal sense of purpose. He is not merely a corporate pawn; he possesses his own motivations and is willing to engage in political maneuvering within the company to achieve his goals.

His primary motivation is tied to his complicated family history and his drive to carve out his own place within the Kirishina Corporation. Initially, he appears to be following orders from his brothers to shut down A-TEC, but as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that he has his own designs, including a desire for recognition and, later, a genuine connection with the people he was sent to dismiss. His role in the story is that of a catalyst and a foil to the A-TEC team. He is the representative of cold corporate reality, clashing with the hot-blooded idealism of the team's leader, Kaito Sera. Nagisa's presence forces the A-TEC members to fight for their existence, while his own journey is one of discovering value beyond corporate profit.

Key relationships define his arc. His relationship with his elder brothers, Kazuhisa and Yūji, is strained and marked by power struggles and secrets. Kazuhisa, the company president, and Yūji, the managing director, both use Nagisa for their own ends, and he is initially treated as a disposable tool. His relationship with the A-TEC team evolves dramatically. He starts as their antagonist but gradually earns their respect, particularly through his interactions with Mizuki Sera, who shows him kindness and helps him navigate the human side of the division, and Iris Shirasaki, the test pilot whose past is intertwined with Nagisa's own hidden history.

Nagisa's development is profound. He transitions from an outsider intent on dismantling the team to a key member willing to risk everything for them. He learns to value creativity and camaraderie over pure efficiency. His eventual stand against his brother, the company president, by rejecting a role in the weapons department and leading the A-TEC team to form their own independent company, marks his complete character transformation. He is no longer just a son of the Kiryu family but a leader in his own right.

In terms of notable abilities, Nagisa is exceptionally skilled in corporate strategy, financial management, and political negotiation. He is a keen strategist who can navigate complex corporate structures and anticipate the moves of his opponents. He also possesses a deep understanding of business operations, having proven himself in various assignments throughout the Solar System. These abilities make him a formidable corporate operative and a valuable asset to any team, though his human skills require significant growth over the course of the story.
