Description
Carla, a dark elf adorned in traditional healer robes, proclaims herself a priestess. Her purported healing abilities consistently materialize as dark magic or curses, starkly opposing her stated role. Upon first meeting Alvin, she inadvertently curses him, irrevocably linking their survival and confining them within a 300-meter radius of each other. This curse forges their obligatory partnership.

Her personality blends an unwavering deadpan expression with eccentric and abrasive conduct. She habitually deploys passive-aggressive remarks, gaslighting, and circuitous insults toward Alvin, provoking him for amusement. Despite this antagonism, she sporadically reveals pragmatic competence—shattering locked doors with precise Bajiquan strikes or overpowering threats despite her slender frame.

Carla’s magic starkly diverges from conventional healing. She summons tentacled monstrosities, wields voodoo dolls, and enacts dark-energy rituals under the pretense of medicinal spells. These acts obscure her true capabilities and intentions, blurring ineptitude with deliberate mischief. When questioned, she reaffirms her healer identity without explanation.

Subtle vulnerabilities surface beneath her caustic exterior. A discussion on the lifespan disparity between elves and humans triggers uncharacteristic distress, followed by heightened protectiveness toward Alvin. During genuine peril, she prioritizes his safety, employing unorthodox magic or physical prowess to intervene—hinting at a developing, rarely acknowledged attachment that contradicts her disdain.

Her background remains undefined beyond dark elf heritage and prior solitude. She admits to no adventuring party before Alvin, a circumstance he credits to her abrasive nature. The curse initiates her first sustained partnership, immersing her in social interactions that gradually unveil her capacity for situational cooperation, often framed through reluctance or sarcasm.

Within the narrative, Carla serves as the instigator ("boke") in a comedic duo, countering Alvin’s reactive straight-man ("tsukkomi") role. Their dynamic thrives on her absurd provocations sparking his exasperated retorts. While primarily a conflict source, her presence inadvertently fosters encounters with benevolent monsters and resolves plot obstacles through unconventional abilities.
