Milia Fallyna Jenius is a former Zentradi ace pilot who becomes a key figure in the U.N. Spacy and later the civilian leader of City 7 in the Macross 7 colonization fleet. Originally created as a warrior for the all-female Meltlandi force, she was known across the Zentradi fleets for her exceptional skill in powered suits and Queadluun-Rau battle suits. Her obsessive desire to face a worthy opponent led her to challenge the human pilot Maximilian Jenius after hearing of his abilities. Following her defeat in aerial combat, she volunteered to undergo micloning to infiltrate the SDF-1 Macross under the guise of a spy, but her true goal was to seek personal revenge against the man who bested her. However, when Max defeated her again in a knife fight and refused to harm her, she recognized that the unfamiliar emotion she felt was not hatred but love. She defected to the U.N. Spacy, married Max, and became a loyal pilot of a red-painted VF-1J Valkyrie, serving as his wingmate. Over the following decades, she and Max had seven natural daughters and adopted one Zentradi girl. Milia continued her military career, co-leading the elite Dancing Skull special forces team with Max, serving as the head instructor of the Eagle Nest Aerial Tactics Center—where she was known as the Eagle Mother—and eventually rising to the rank of captain and second-in-command of the 37th long-distance colonization fleet. By the time of Macross 7, Milia has been elected mayor of City 7, the largest ship of the Macross 7 fleet. Her relationship with Max has become strained and the couple is separated, though she still appears to hold underlying feelings for him. She lives separately from her youngest daughter, Mylene Flare Jenius, and is determined both to maintain law and order among the citizens and to see Mylene married. Despite her administrative role, Milia’s combat skills remain undiminished. She continues to pilot her cherished red VF-1J Valkyrie, as well as more advanced models such as the VF-17D Nightmare and VF-22S Sturmvogel II, all painted in her signature deep red. She shows deep attachment to her original Valkyrie and is visibly affected when it is destroyed by the enemy Sivil. Throughout the events of Macross 7, she takes to the cockpit to assist the fleet against the Protodeviln threat. In the final battle, she and Max fight side by side against Lord Geperuniti. In the specific episode Fleet of the Strongest Women from Macross 7 Encore, the Macross 7 fleet encounters a rogue Meltrandi fleet led by an old rival of Milia, drawing on her past as a Zentradi warrior and forcing her to confront her former identity. Milia is also sensitive about her age, especially when characters like Basara Nekki make remarks about it.
