TV-Series
Description
Bell Cranel is the primary protagonist of the story and serves as the captain of the Hestia Familia. He is a fourteen-year-old human boy with distinctive white hair and red eyes, a physical appearance that often leads others in the city of Orario to compare him to a rabbit. Standing 165 centimeters tall, he is a young adventurer who came to the labyrinth city from the countryside following the death of his adoptive grandfather, who is later revealed to be the god Zeus.

In terms of personality, Bell is generally good-natured, shy, and sincere, with a kind heart that makes it difficult for him to refuse requests for help. He is known for being polite, honest, and a poor liar. While he dreams of romantic encounters, he is actually quite immature and flustered around women, despite harboring a strong admiration for them instilled by his grandfather's tales. He struggles with self-confidence and can be easily shaken, yet he possesses the remarkable ability to muster immense courage in desperate situations. Bell is openly emotional, often crying when faced with conflict or the struggles of others, and is quick to vocalize his support for those in need. He is driven not by a desire for fame or revenge, but by a wish to protect others and live up to the faith placed in him by his companions.

Bell’s primary motivation throughout his journey is rooted in his admiration for Ais Wallenstein, a high-ranking swordswoman who saved his life early in his career. He fell in love with her at first sight and resolved to become strong enough to stand beside her, believing he is not worthy to confess his feelings until he does so. This powerful, single-minded feeling is the catalyst for his extraordinary growth. He also harbors a secret desire to become a hero, a dream he cultivated while listening to his grandfather's stories as a child.

Within the story, Bell begins as a complete novice adventurer at Level 1, but his role rapidly evolves as he becomes the center of numerous major incidents in Orario. His incredibly fast rise through the ranks earns him the attention of many gods and adventurers, marking him as a "supernova" in the city. He starts as a solo explorer but eventually becomes the leader of his small Familia, taking on the responsibility of protecting and providing for his growing family of allies. He is the wielder of the Hestia Knife, a unique living weapon forged by the god Hephaestus that grows in power alongside its user.

Key relationships define much of Bell's journey. His bond with his goddess, Hestia, is one of deep familial care and gratitude. She was the first to accept him, and he considers her family, working hard to support her and protect her at any cost. While Hestia harbors romantic feelings for him, Bell initially holds the belief that mortals should not have romantic relationships with gods, though his feelings for her are complex. His most influential relationship is with Ais Wallenstein, who serves as both his love interest and his informal combat instructor. Her training shapes his fighting style, and his desire to catch up to her is the engine of his growth, even leading to a brief but significant conflict between them during the Xenos incident. Within his own Familia, he builds strong friendships with the supporter Liliruca Arde and the blacksmith Welf Crozzo, learning to trust them and fight as part of a team.

Bell’s character development is marked by a steady transition from a naive, impulsive rookie into a more strategic and mature leader. While he retains his core kindness and purity, his worldview expands significantly through challenges such as the War Game against the Apollo Familia and the conflict surrounding the Xenos, a race of intelligent monsters he chooses to protect. This decision to protect the Xenos leads to him being branded a traitor by the city, forcing him to confront complex moral dilemmas and strengthening his resolve to follow his own principles, even when it makes him a hypocrite in the eyes of others.

Bell possesses several notable abilities that account for his legendary growth. His primary skill is Liaris Freese, which allows his status to grow at an explosive rate based on the strength of his feelings, specifically his admiration for Ais. This skill allows him to break past the normal S-rank limit of his stats and also renders him immune to magical charm effects. He also possesses the skill Argonaut, which allows him to "charge" his attacks or magic, greatly amplifying their power and enabling him to deliver a single, decisive heroic strike. Bell wields the chantless magic Firebolt, a rapid-fire attack that he can unleash without an incantation. His combat style emphasizes speed and agility, relying on hit-and-run tactics with dual-wielded knives, a style that strongly resembles Ais's due to her tutelage. Despite his rapid growth, Bell is often noted to lack the sheer experience and technical skill of veterans at his same level, a weakness he works constantly to overcome through training. By the 18th volume of the main series, Bell has reached Level 5 and earned a new alias, Rabbit Foot, having long since outgrown his original nickname, Little Rookie.
