Description
Liliruca Arde is a fifteen‑year‑old Pallum girl who serves as a supporter and strategist for the Hestia Familia in the city of Orario. She was born into the Soma Familia, where her parents neglected her and forced her to earn money from a young age. After her parents were killed in the Dungeon, she was left to fend for herself and was bullied by other members of her familia. Liliruca initially tried to become an adventurer but lacked the talent and nearly died, so she switched to being a supporter, a role that involved carrying an adventurer’s gear and loot. She was constantly mistreated and looked down upon by the adventurers she worked with, which fostered a deep hatred and distrust of all adventurers. Desperate to escape, she ran away, but the Soma Familia tracked her down and punished the old couple who had taken her in, showing her that she had no true allies. From then on, she used her innate transformation magic, Cinder Ella, to disguise herself as other races and trick adventurers, stealing their items and money to survive.
Her life changed when she met Bell Cranel. Initially, she intended to deceive and steal from him as she had done with others, but Bell’s unusual kindness, trust, and generosity confused her. When she was cornered by hostile adventurers from her past, Bell rescued her without hesitation, proving that not all adventurers were the same. This act of salvation led her to change her ways, and with the help of Hestia, she officially left the Soma Familia and joined the Hestia Familia. After joining, her personality shifted from cynical, calculating, and distrustful to loyal, strategic, and deeply protective of her new family. She became the self‑appointed treasurer of the Hestia Familia due to her past struggles with money, managing their finances with extreme caution and diligence. She disliked wasteful spending and was always eager to earn more.
Liliruca is regarded as the brains of the Hestia Familia, developing battle plans and strategies. She possesses strong insight forged during her time as a thief, and she uses her experience to gather information and handle tasks that Bell and other members cannot. Despite her straightforward and sometimes sharp‑tongued manner, she speaks respectfully, addressing everyone with the suffix sama or Master, a habit born from the discrimination she suffered. She often takes the most logical and cautious point of view, sometimes clashing with more impulsive members like Welf. Her pragmatic stance can appear cold‑hearted, but it stems from a desire to avoid harm coming to her familia.
Her key relationships include Bell Cranel, for whom she develops deep romantic feelings and a sense of devotion; Hestia, the goddess who gives her a safe home; and other members such as Welf Crozzo and Mikoto. She also interacts with characters from other familias, notably Finn Deimne, from whom she learns tactical command.
Liliruca’s development over the story is significant. She grows from a distrustful survivor into a confident and capable commander, as seen during the War Game against the Apollo Familia and later during large‑scale operations commanded by Finn and Hedin. She learns to trust others and to put the well‑being of her companions before her own self‑interest.
In terms of abilities, Liliruca is a Level 2 Supporter. Her skills include Artel Assist, which improves her ability to carry heavy loads; and Command Call, which increases the range of her vocal commands in battle, making her an effective commander. Her transformation magic, Cinder Ella, allows her to change her appearance to anything around her own size, including monsters, based on a clear mental image. This is a core part of her espionage and infiltration abilities. Her development abilities are Abnormal Resistance, which provides resistance to status ailments, and Mixing, which reflects her past as a thief who created items to trick adventurers. Although her direct combat skills are poor, she is a skilled marksman with a crossbow, capable of accurate rapid fire and sniping. She also uses magic swords and various items like poison bags. As a Pallum, she has enhanced senses, especially eyesight, and her physical abilities are significantly above normal human level after leveling up. She carries a large backpack and uses a rapid‑fire crossbow called Sciurus Walnut.
