Description
Liliruka Erde, also known as Lili, is a young Pallum girl who serves as a supporter and later a key strategist within the Hestia Familia. She was born into the Soma Familia, where her parents neglected her and forced her to earn money for them from a young age. After her parents died in the Dungeon, she was left alone and bullied by the other members of her familia, who looked down on her and offered no support. She initially tried to become an adventurer but lacked combat talent, nearly dying in the process, so she switched to working as a supporter—a role she found demeaning as she was often mistreated, cheated out of earnings, and even assaulted by the adventurers she assisted. This constant abuse fueled a deep hatred and distrust of adventurers. To survive, she began using her innate transformation magic, Cinder Ella, to disguise herself and trick parties into letting her join, only to steal their loot and money. Her goal was to save enough to buy her freedom from the Soma Familia.
Her life changed when she met Bell Cranel. Initially intending to steal from him as well, Bell’s consistent kindness, trust, and equal treatment—such as giving her a fair share of their earnings—confused her and made her question her cynical worldview. When she was cornered and nearly killed by hostile adventurers from her past, Bell rescued her without hesitation. This act of salvation broke through her defenses, and she tearfully confessed her betrayal. He forgave her, and with the help of the goddess Hestia, she was freed from the Soma Familia and formally joined the Hestia Familia. Since then, she has become fiercely loyal to Bell and the rest of the familia, developing romantic feelings for him, though he tends to see her as a younger sibling figure. She speaks respectfully to everyone, often addressing them with “\-sama” or “Master,” a habit born from the discrimination she endured.
Lili is defined by her sharp intellect and cautious, pragmatic nature. She is often called the “brains” of the Hestia Familia, taking charge of planning strategies for dungeon expeditions and battles. Her calculating mind and strong insight, honed through years of deception, allow her to quickly assess situations and people. For instance, she was able to deduce the speech patterns and mannerisms of the Loki Familia captain Finn after just one meeting, and she sensed the unspoken coordination between the Gulliver brothers in combat. She is also highly financially responsible, having experienced poverty and debt firsthand, and she manages the familia’s treasury, ensuring every expense is justified. While she is sometimes perceived as cold-hearted for opposing risky decisions—such as rescuing Haruhime or sheltering the Xenos Wiene—her motivation is always the safety and well-being of her new family, not a lack of compassion.
As a supporter, Lili carries a large backpack and uses a rapid-fire crossbow named Sciurus Walnut. Though her personal combat ability is low for her level, she compensates with tools, items, and magic swords. Her most notable ability is Cinder Ella, a transformation spell that allows her to change her appearance into anything roughly her own size, including monsters or other humanoid races. The transformation is undone if she is struck. She previously used this to disguise herself as a chienthrope or elf child. After ranking up to Level 2, she gained the skills Artel Assist, which enhances her carrying capacity, and Command Call, which extends the range at which she can issue orders in battle, marking her growth as a battlefield commander. She also developed the abilities Abnormal Resistance and Mixing, the latter reflecting her past as a thief who crafted items for trickery.
Over the course of the story, Lili evolves from a distrustful, self-serving survivor into a capable leader and strategist. She was crucial in the War Game against Apollo Familia, and under the tutelage of skilled commanders like Daphne, Riveria, Gareth, and later Finn, she became known by the alias “Little Marshal.” During the conflict with Freya Familia, she commanded the entire faction alliance’s movements, and she was later chosen to coordinate thousands of soldiers from Orario and the School District in a major operation to rescue the Loki Familia. Her journey is one of finding belonging and using her hard-won cunning to protect those she cares about, proving that strength is not only measured by physical prowess.
