Description
Lutecia Alpine is a young girl with long purple hair and red eyes who first appears as an antagonist in the earlier series StrikerS before becoming a supporting character in ViVid. She was originally part of Jail Scaglietti's group, working alongside the fierce warrior Zest Grangeitz and the intelligent familiar Agito. Lutecia is a powerful insect summoner, capable of conjuring and controlling swarms of insect-like creatures as well as manipulating gadget drones into what are called Insect Sectors. She uses the Belkan magic system, but her primary combat style relies on summoning rather than direct magical attacks. In StrikerS, she is motivated by a search for specific relics, particularly Relic number 11, and trusts Scaglietti because she views him as kind, allowing herself to be manipulated. This trust stems from her loneliness and desire for connection; she hides her true feelings of isolation beneath a quiet, obedient exterior. It is later revealed that she is the daughter of Megane Alpine, a researcher involved in a combat cyborg incident, and after the events of StrikerS she is reunited with her mother and begins a new life. In ViVid, Lutecia appears as a minor character but is shown to have become a friend of Vivio Takamachi and the other girls, despite their past as enemies. Her development from a manipulated, emotionally guarded child to a more settled and friendly individual is a key part of her arc. She retains her insect-summoning abilities but no longer uses them for conflict, instead integrating peacefully into daily life on Mid-Childa. Her relationships with Vivio and her former partners Zest and Agito remain important, and she is depicted as a gentle and supportive presence among the younger generation.
