ONA
Description
Laomoto Khan is the godfather of the Soukai Syndicate and the self-styled Emperor of Neo-Saitama, holding the city's criminal underworld under his absolute control. His ninja name is Demolition Ninja, a title he earns by ingesting the souls of seven other ninja, beginning with Buke Ninja, to achieve unsurpassed combat capabilities. He is also the CEO of the Nekosogi Fund, and despite his brute force, he is a shrewd businessman who frequently uses ninja coercion to expand his influence during external meetings and presentations.
Khan's appearance differs between media. In the anime, he is depicted as exaggeratedly large and muscular with a small head, balding spiked hair, and a golden mask, typically dressed in a white suit and golden shoes. In the manga, he is shown as a skinny, balding man with pointed hair and a mask. He wields two specialized katana swords named Nanban and Karoushi and worships the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Masashi from the Heian Era.
Motivated by an insatiable desire for power, Khan is never satisfied with his existing abilities and constantly seeks to strengthen himself by absorbing other ninja souls. He is egotistical, cruel, and prone to violent outbursts; when his plans are thwarted by Ninja Slayer, he becomes enraged and often takes his anger out on his subordinates, causing them to suffer heart attacks or die of fright. Nonetheless, he is also capable of cunning and manipulation, orchestrating numerous schemes to maintain his grip on Neo-Saitama.
As the primary antagonist of the first part of the story, Khan appears in nearly every episode, directing the syndicate's operations and dispatching ninja assassins to eliminate Ninja Slayer. His role culminates in a direct confrontation with the protagonist. When cornered and unable to fight, he abandons his pride and begs for his life, offering anything in exchange. However, Ninja Slayer refuses and delivers a fatal blow, sending him plummeting from the top of a castle tower, ending his reign.
Throughout his arc, Khan demonstrates no significant personal growth or redemption; he remains a power-hungry tyrant until his death. His key relationships include his fanatically loyal subordinate Tomihide Sugarawarano, who distrusts Khan's other associates, and his adversarial relationship with the Dark Ninja, whom he eventually plots against. Khan's legacy is that of a formidable but ultimately self-destructive ruler whose obsession with strength leads to his downfall.
