Description
Minto Aizawa is a young girl from an extraordinary wealthy family, residing in a vast mansion with her frequently absent parents, her older brother Seiji, and a nanny who provides her care. Her childhood was largely positive, marked by early ballet lessons that cultivated her into a skilled prima ballerina. She often performed for her brother, though their relationship grew distant after he left for a prestigious school and became consumed by business.

Her life was irrevocably altered when she was infused with Blue Lorikeet DNA through the Mew Project, granting her the power to become the superheroine Mew Mint. Her initial reaction was one of fear and a desire to quit, but she quickly accepted her new role. This first transformation was catalyzed by the infection of her beloved pet Pomeranian, Mickey, who became a Chimera Anima.

Her personality, shaped by her affluent upbringing, is initially spoiled, snobbish, and self-centered. She displayed open contempt for others, particularly Ichigo Momomiya, and was often lazy, preferring to conduct tea taste tests over working at Café Mew Mew. Yet beneath this exterior, she is deeply empathetic, kind, and caring toward her close friends. She is extremely headstrong and a powerful force when cooperating with her team. She holds a particularly strong, near-obsessive admiration for Zakuro Fujiwara that influences many of her decisions and hints at a potential romantic interest.

In the narrative of *Tokyo Mew Mew New*, her character develops further. She becomes more soft-spoken, calm, and rarely angry, though she retains a bossy demeanor, especially with Ichigo. She is more shy and tsundere-like, making a concerted effort to open up to her teammates. This version of Minto is far more interested in proving herself capable and committed to her goals, both as a Mew Mew and as a promising member of the Aizawa family corporation. She feels a great responsibility as the first girl selected for the Mew Project and channels this into designing a roof-mounted wind power generator, aspiring to reduce carbon footprints across Japan. Some of her actions are flamboyant and over-the-top for comedic effect, such as running away from home in a palanquin with an entourage. She also demonstrates surprise at middle-class living conditions but is polite and cordial when a guest in Ichigo's home.

Her civilian appearance evolves. In the original series, she has navy blue hair often styled in buns and wears formal, expensive clothing. In *Tokyo Mew Mew New*, she wears her hair down. Her school uniform is a long light blue dress with puffed sleeves, a blue sleeveless vest, a white collar with black stripes, dark blue tights, and strapped shoes. An everyday outfit consists of a long-sleeved frilled shirt, a blue pleated skirt, loafers with knee-high socks, a purse bag, and a red fabric tie held by a green gem. Her waitress uniform at Café Mew Mew follows a blue color scheme.

As Mew Mint, her hair deepens to a richer blue and her eyes change from brown to blue. She gains wings and tail feathers from the Blue Lorikeet. Her original Mew outfit is an aquamarine dress with matching garters, a choker with a pendant, gloves, and ankle boots. Her upgraded form features a slightly altered outfit with a new color palette, including a blue ribbon with a heart-shaped gem replacing her pendant, a ribbon on her garter, gloves with a white band and small blue heart gem, an inner pair of gloves, and socks and boots with white ribbons. Her hair becomes longer and is styled in buns, with a section of green hair underneath that is not immediately obvious.

Her transformation sequence reflects her dedication to ballet, involving a series of graceful dance moves, twirls, and leaps that culminate in an arabesque pose. Her primary weapon is the MinTone Arrow, a lyre-shaped bow. Her main attack is the Ribbon Mint Echo, where she fires an arrow of aquamarine energy. A second attack, Mew Aqua Drop or Ribbon Aqua Drops, is performed with a weapon called the Mew Aqua Rod, which is pink in the manga and blue in the 2022 anime. A new attack introduced in the 2020 Re-Turn manga is the Mint Echo Shower. She can also perform a combined attack with Zakuro called Ribbon Echo Spin.

Her family relationships are significant. Her parents are almost never home and do not attend her ballet recitals. Her relationship with her brother, Seiji, is strained by his busy schedule, though a moment during a Chimera Anima attack reveals they still care for each other deeply.

Beyond her Mew abilities, she is a talented and graceful ballet dancer, is flexible, enduring, and demonstrates some skill in hand-to-hand combat and archery. As Mew Mint, she is the only team member capable of flight and can communicate with birds.

In the storyline of the 2020 Re-Turn manga, she continues her duties as a Mew Mew, fighting Chimera Anima in a frozen Shibuya. It is implied these new threats are created through human activities like animal smuggling. She is still shown working at Café Mew Mew alongside her teammates and the Shirogane staff.

Various international localizations of the series have changed her name. In the English dub *Mew Mew Power*, she is known as Corina Bucksworth. Other name changes include Mina Aizawa in Italian, Bò-Hé Lánzé in Mandarin, Bok-Ho Laamjaak in Cantonese, and Menta Aizawa in European Portuguese, among others.
