Description
Mitsuba Sangu is a member of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army and a core fighter in the Moon Demon Squad, serving directly under Yuichiro Hyakuya’s team. Born on July 7, 2004, she is the younger sister of Aoi Sangu, a special duty second lieutenant. Mitsuba has been part of the vampire extermination unit since the age of thirteen, and that early exposure to combat has shaped her into a disciplined, rule‑focused soldier. She holds a strong belief in teamwork and formation, and she initially clashes with those who act recklessly or break rank.

Beneath her strict exterior, Mitsuba is emotional, talkative, and at times fiery. She is fiercely loyal to her comrades and family, yet she carries a deep guilt from a past failure: in an earlier squad, she once abandoned her formation to save a teammate, an act that led to the entire squad’s annihilation. That tragedy drives her present‑day commitment to group coordination, and she becomes visibly upset when others disregard tactics or endanger the team. While she can come across as overbearing or proud to new acquaintances, she is fundamentally kind‑hearted and cares deeply about the people she fights beside.

Mitsuba’s abilities center on her use of a demon‑infused weapon—a large axe—that she wields with lethal precision. Her combat style is aggressive yet calculated, reflecting her desire to eliminate vampires efficiently while protecting her allies. Over the course of the story, she grows more comfortable working with her often‑unpredictable squadmates, especially Shinoa Hiiragi, whom she has known for a long time, and she learns to balance her rigid methods with the chaotic demands of real battle. Her motivations are rooted in protecting those she loves and atoning for her past mistake, making her a steady, reliable presence in the Moon Demon Squad’s fight against the vampire threat.
