After Australia's evacuation during the Kaiju crisis, he resided in the survivor settlement of Bogan. Tasked with activating Atlas Destroyer, repeated failed neural links with untrained Bogan recruits caused neural damage and significant memory loss, particularly regarding Jaeger systems. Despite this impairment, he collaborated with Mei and Taylor Travis to repair the Jaeger under Shane's orders, restoring it to operational status.

Wyrick later proposed that Taylor Travis attempt solo piloting using archived Ranger memories to rescue Hayley Travis and a Kaiju-human hybrid child, aligning with a plan to betray Shane. He aided the Travis siblings and Mei in escaping Bogan with the Jaeger. Shortly after departure, Wyrick answered Shane's call on Mei's rigged walkie-talkie; Shane triggered a remote detonation, killing Wyrick via explosive trauma that severed his head and a hand. Mei buried his remains under rocks, marking the site with one of his glass bottles.

Though absent in later seasons, his legacy endured through a Kaiju-tracking scanner previously downloaded by Mei, which she used to locate threats. Additional documented details include his PPDC ID (JR238D), habitual mispronunciation of "Brisbane," and skills gained from failed Drifts with Bogan members—knife-throwing and juggling.
