Description
Milo di Scorpio is the Gold Saint who guards the eighth of the twelve temples in the Sanctuary, the House of Scorpio. He hails from Greece and is one of the elite warriors who serve the goddess Athena. After sacrificing his life along with the other Gold Saints to destroy the Wailing Wall during the war against Hades, Milo is mysteriously revived in the land of Asgard in the events of Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold. His revival carries the mark of an Einherjar, a sign of a warrior brought back to fight in Asgard’s conflict.

Milo’s personality is defined by a fierce pride in his status as a Gold Saint and an unwavering sense of honor. He is confident and often impetuous, quick to speak his mind and ready to defend the reputation of his comrades. His strong sense of justice drives him to act decisively, and he holds deep loyalty to Athena, which he demonstrates through both obedience and independent judgment when the truth of a situation becomes clear. In his earlier confrontations, Milo could appear ruthless, but he is ultimately capable of mercy and respect toward worthy opponents—as seen when he spared Cygnus Hyoga after witnessing the bronze saint’s unwavering devotion.

In Soul of Gold, Milo’s role is to investigate the new threat in Asgard and fight alongside his fellow revived Gold Saints. He is first seen torturing an Asgardian soldier for information about the God Warriors, showing his direct and forceful methods. He later participates in the battles against the God Warriors, using his speed and precision to deliver lethal strikes. His key relationships include a long-standing friendship with Aquarius Camus, which is hinted at in the original story and deepened in later works such as Soul of Gold, where the two Gold Saints trust each other implicitly in combat. Milo also shares a strong bond with the other Gold Saints, particularly Leo Aiolia and Aries Mu, as they cooperate to uncover the mystery of their revival and oppose the enemy threatening Asgard.

Throughout his appearances, Milo undergoes notable development. Originally deceived by the false Pope into believing Athena’s reincarnation was an imposter, he later pledges his loyalty to Saori Kido once the truth is revealed. His willingness to admit his mistake and change sides demonstrates his integrity. In Soul of Gold, his return to life forces him to confront a new ordeal, further proving his resilience and dedication. He is able to awaken his Cosmo to new heights, attaining a God Cloth that vastly amplifies his power and allows him to stand against divine-level enemies.

Milo’s combat abilities center on his signature technique, Scarlet Needle. By striking at the fifteen vital star points of the Scorpius constellation on an opponent’s body with light-speed finger attacks, he inflicts immense pain and progressively paralyzes his target. The fifteenth strike, known as Antares, delivers a fatal blow that extinguishes the victim’s life force. He also uses Restriction, a technique that attacks the central nervous system to immobilize an enemy without killing them. As a Gold Saint, Milo can move and fight at light speed, delivering devastating punches and kicks. His fighting style emphasizes speed, precision, and unerring accuracy, making him one of the most dangerous opponents among the Gold Saints. In Soul of Gold, he further exhibits techniques such as Scarlet Cyclone and Crimson Stinger, showcasing the refined power of his divine armor.
