ONA
Description
Milo de Escorpião is a Gold Saint of the constellation Scorpio who appears in Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold as one of the twelve revived Gold Saints. After sacrificing his life alongside his comrades to destroy the Wall of Grief in the battle against Hades, Milo is mysteriously resurrected in the frozen land of Asgard. His return is marked by a sense of purpose and a desire to understand the reason behind his revival, as well as to confront the new threat posed by the God Warriors serving under Andreas Lise.
In terms of personality, Milo is proud, confident, and possesses a strong sense of justice. He values the honor of being a Gold Saint and is known for his spontaneity and directness. He is not afraid to voice his thoughts and can be ruthless when interrogating enemies, as seen when he tortures an Asgardian soldier for information about the God Warriors. Despite his fierce demeanor, Milo is also capable of empathy and has a deep sense of loyalty toward his friends and Athena. His motivations in Soul of Gold center on uncovering the truth behind the resurrection, protecting Asgard from the evil forces manipulating it, and standing by his fellow Gold Saints.
Milo plays an active role in the story, first appearing while extracting intelligence from a soldier. He later confronts the God Warrior Surtr, but is caught off guard when Surtr’s cunning tactics lead Milo into a trap. During this encounter, Milo comes face to face with Camus de Aquário, his closest friend and fellow Gold Saint, who appears to be allied with the enemy. This betrayal, which later reveals a deeper complexity, becomes a key emotional conflict for Milo. He is also involved in the larger strategy to destroy the barrier of Yggdrasil and, like other Gold Saints, he attains a divine form known as the God Cloth when his cosmos burns at its maximum, granting him greatly enhanced power.
Key relationships define Milo’s journey in Soul of Gold. His bond with Camus de Aquário is the most significant: they share a history of friendship and mutual respect, and seeing Camus seemingly turn against Athena weighs heavily on Milo. He also interacts with other Gold Saints such as Aiolia de Leão, the main protagonist, and Saga de Gêmeos, who rescues him during his battle against Surtr. Milo respects his fellow saints and works alongside them to overcome the enemies of Asgard.
Milo’s notable abilities center on his signature technique, Scarlet Needle, in which he strikes the opponent’s vital points with his fingertip at the speed of light, delivering up to fifteen precise stings corresponding to the stars of Scorpius. The final strike, Antares, is lethal and causes the target’s complete sensory shutdown and paralysis. He also uses a technique called Restriction, which pins an enemy in place by attacking their central nervous system. His combat style relies on overwhelming speed, precision, and psychological pressure, often taunting opponents to force mistakes. In Soul of Gold, when he awakens his divine cosmos, his Cloth evolves into the God Cloth, granting him even greater power and the ability to fight on par with the enhanced God Warriors.
Throughout the series, Milo undergoes subtle development, reaffirming his commitment to justice and his willingness to forgive and fight alongside those he once doubted. His role is that of a steadfast warrior who, despite personal conflicts, remains dedicated to Athena and his comrades until the final battle against the evil god Loki.
