Hagal is a veteran general serving in the Natra Kingdom's army. He originally gained renown as a general in another country before departing under unspecified circumstances. After wandering, he entered the service of Natra's ruler, King Owen.

Hagal holds Prince Wein Salema Arbalest's talents in high regard. His loyalty to the Natra royal family is demonstrated by undertaking high-risk operations. In one instance, he deliberately associated himself with a rebellion forming within Natra, agitated by an external power, intending to weaken it from within to ensure Prince Wein could easily defeat it. Following this, Hagal's execution was publicly staged as part of a deception orchestrated by Wein.

The objective behind faking Hagal's death was to lure the neighboring kingdom of Cavarin into attacking Natra during the instability following King Ordalasse of Cavarin's death. Operating under concealment, Hagal maneuvered to launch a surprise attack against the Cavarin general leading the invasion force, proving his strategic value to Natra and readiness to employ complex subterfuge for the kingdom's benefit.
