Description
Buzam A. Calessa, commonly referred to as B.C., serves as the sub-commander of the battleship Nirvana. She is a trusted subordinate and the right hand of the ship's captain, Magno Vivan, holding the rank of second-in-command among the female pirate crew. At twenty-eight years old, she is one of the older and more experienced members of the crew, though she is not in command of the entire fleet like Captain Magno.

In her role on the bridge, B.C. is responsible for relaying the captain's orders to the rest of the crew and coordinating the tactical assaults of the Dreads, the Nirvana's fighter mecha. She presents a stern and all-business demeanor, appearing as a strict workaholic who is constantly on the bridge, monitoring data and reviewing the crew's performance. She is a skilled tactician, giving orders firmly and decisively without hesitation. For personal defense and close-quarters combat, she wields a whip with notable dexterity and flexibility.

B.C.'s personality is defined by her unwavering professionalism and dedication to the ship's mission, which is the survival and success of the all-female pirate band. She is duty-bound and practical, focusing on the welfare of the crew as a whole rather than forming close personal bonds. Her serious nature and high standards can make her appear distant, but this stems from a strong sense of responsibility rather than any personal malice.

A significant development in the story reveals that B.C. is not what she initially seems. For much of the series, she operates as a trusted officer, but it is eventually disclosed that she is actually a spy from the male-dominated planet of Tarak. In this capacity, her real identity is Tenmei Uragasumi, a male intelligence officer and the Commander of Tarak Intelligence. This revelation creates a major shift in her character, as her loyalty to the Nirvana comes into direct conflict with her original mission. Despite this betrayal, she is ultimately forgiven by Captain Magno Vivan on the condition that she continues to serve as B.C.. This forgiveness allows her to maintain her position and identity as the sub-commander, highlighting her acceptance as a valued member of the crew despite her past.

B.C. shares a notable, though often one-sided, relationship with the young male crew member Bart Garsus. Bart becomes enamored with her and makes several advances, which she politely but firmly rebuffs. The later discovery of her true gender and origin complicates his feelings, though he ultimately accepts her. Her relationship with Captain Magno Vivan is central to her role; she acts as the captain's direct link to the ship, and Magno's final act of clemency is what allows B.C. to remain part of the family she had infiltrated.
