Description
Maraschino is the director and head of Seventh Heaven, the most notorious maximum-security prison in the world of Jing, King of Bandits. His character is defined by extreme narcissism: he decorates the prison's main hall with a gigantic statue of himself and takes immense pride in operating the facility as a symbol of his own authority. Maraschino is also a vampire, a trait that influences his behavior and environment. He has a fondness for wine, sleeps upside down like a bat, and keeps numerous bats as pets, which adds a gothic, theatrical flair to his persona.

Maraschino's primary motivation is maintaining control over his prison and his reputation as its unassailable warden. He is deeply invested in the prison's fearsome reputation and sees himself as its ultimate master. However, his vanity and arrogance become his undoing when Jing and his partner Kir are imprisoned at Seventh Heaven. Maraschino's pride is shattered when Jing manages to escape, triggering a dramatic breakdown. In his fury and desperation, he instigates a rebellion among the inmates, aligning himself with the dangerous prisoner Campari and others in a chaotic attempt to recapture Jing and restore his own sense of order.

In terms of story role, Maraschino serves as the primary antagonist of the Seventh Heaven arc. He represents the oppressive, self-aggrandizing establishment that Jing must outwit and overthrow. His key relationship is with the prisoner Campari, with whom he cooperates after Jing's escape, though this alliance is born of mutual desperation rather than trust. Maraschino also interacts directly with Jing, viewing the boy initially as a mere nuisance and later as an existential threat to his identity.

Character development for Maraschino is confined to the arc: he begins as a smug, proud warden and descends into a frantic, unhinged figure whose entire self-worth collapses when his prison's security is breached. There is no further growth beyond this unraveling. His notable abilities stem from his vampiric nature, which likely grants him enhanced strength, the ability to command bats, and perhaps other supernatural traits, though the series focuses more on his psychological fragility than his physical prowess. Overall, Maraschino is a vanity-driven villain whose exaggerated self-image becomes the very flaw that leads to his downfall.
