TV-Series
Description
Ky Schweitzer is a seventeen-year-old member of the Black Gema Gema Gang, holding the position of Lieutenant General, and is also a practicing dentist. His character design includes the group’s standard dog-like ears, tail, and collar, but his uniform additionally features a toothbrush and cup, signaling his dental profession. He first appeared in the Di Gi Charat Christmas Special and carries his same role into Di Gi Charat Nyo.
His personality is built around a contrast between a serious, gentle, and caring nature and a tendency to become flustered or panicked when situations spiral out of control. He is fiercely devoted to the gang’s leader, Piyoko, worrying over her constantly and making sure she maintains proper dental hygiene. Within the group, he has taken on the self-appointed role of the mother, or “Mommy,” a label that embarrasses him because he is male. While he habitually praises Piyoko, his temper can flare, especially toward fellow gang member Coo, with whom he can become dominating and rude when angered.
Ky’s driving motivation is Piyoko’s welfare. Although he participates in the gang’s schemes against Dejiko, his primary focus remains caretaking rather than villainy, and his actions are often comedic extensions of his overprotective, maternal persona. His relationships center on this dynamic: he acts as a guardian to Piyoko, and he shares a fractious sibling-like connection with the other gang members, particularly Coo, but also Rik Heisenberg. The Black Gema Gema Gang treats one another as a family, and Ky embodies the nurturing, rule-enforcing parent within that unit.
Throughout the series, Ky undergoes no significant personal development or backstory revelation. His character traits and role remain consistent, with the humor arising from his motherly fussing and his embarrassment at that role. As a dentist, he possesses a notable fixation on oral care and carries dental tools, but these are used for comedic effect rather than combat or supernatural abilities.
