Description
Kenta Yumiya is a young and enthusiastic Beyblader who serves as one of the primary protagonists in the Metal Saga. He is a boy with bright green hair and brown eyes, typically dressed in a yellow t-shirt with blue shorts and trainers. At the beginning of his journey, Kenta is portrayed as a beginner blader who lacks confidence in his own skills, often feeling intimidated by more experienced opponents. This all changes when he meets Gingka Hagane, who saves him from a forced battle against a group called the Face Hunters. Inspired by Gingka's strength and spirit, Kenta's greatest motivation becomes to grow stronger and eventually become a champion blader, using Gingka as his primary role model and goal.
Throughout the story, Kenta proves himself to be kind and caring, always showing concern when he notices something is wrong with his friends. His personality is marked by a strong sense of determination that often pushes him to overcome his initial fears. He shares a close friendship with Gingka, Madoka Amano, Kyoya Tategami, and Benkei Hanawa. While he deeply respects Gingka, his relationship with the powerful blader Ryuga becomes significant in the third season. In his quest to become stronger and convince Ryuga to join the fight against a great evil named Nemesis, Kenta follows Ryuga on a solitary training journey, eventually forming an unlikely bond with the usually solitary blader.
Kenta's role in the story evolves considerably from a supporting character who often spectates battles to an active participant in the final conflict. His most notable development occurs during the battle against Nemesis. Though not originally chosen as a Legend Blader, Kenta's determination and the bond he forms with Ryuga lead to a pivotal moment. After Ryuga is severely wounded, he passes his own star fragment to Kenta, allowing Kenta's beyblade to evolve into Flash Sagittario and granting him the power of a Legend Blader. This allows him to join the final battle and help defeat the ultimate evil. Kenta's primary beyblade is Flame Sagittario C145S, a stamina-type beyblade. His signature special move is Flame Claw, where he deploys the three claws on his beyblade to deliver a powerful attack. Later, with his evolved beyblade Flash Sagittario, he gains the more powerful Dive Claw attack. His abilities, while initially unrefined, grow significantly through rigorous training and his experiences alongside powerful bladers like Gingka and Ryuga.
